I'm back to shoveling through the next-day-back-after-having-a-day-off mess. It doesn't matter how much you prepare for having a day off, it seems like it never goes as planned.
There's supposed to be a lunar eclipse tonight that's supposed to be really cool. But we've also got snow or freezing rain in the forecast. I hope the clouds stay away long enough to see it.
I would like to see the eclipse, but it doesn't start until 1:41 here for us. Then it is to last 72 minutes. I doubt I'll stay/get up, but I'd like to.
Our plan is to set the alarm for 2:30 our time, so we get up before it's full, see a little of it, then go back to bed. One of our neighbors is a known physicist interested in the cosmos, so it's likely that he'll be outside with a telescope.
Morning all. I too am trying to get out from under Friday. Somehow while I was gone, I received 20 emails. Really? One day? That doesn't usually happen for me. I have been through and cleared most of them.
How about those Eagles? What a surprising win yesterday. I gave up on them by halftime. I checked on them a little after that. I spent the day in the kitchen baking and such. I did pay closer attention to the last 10 minutes or so of the game. Take that NY!

Good day, all. Finally getting to check in. It was a busy morning at home rushing around trying to make sure I remembered to bring in the Christmas cards I got for my friends at the office and deciding which home made goodies to take in for the crew. Got to the office just a little late, only to discover that with all the things I remembered to bring I'd forgotten one detail... my work computer. Soooooo... I'm back at home now.
How 'bout them Eagles? DANG! What a last 7 minutes! Wish I had actually seen the game. I too was busy all day baking and watching the Chiefs game. Speaking of which... YAY CHIEFS! They are now 9-5. With one more win... which they should win this weekend's game... they will have more wins this season than they had in the last 3 seasons combined. It would be fantastic if they end up in the playoffs, but even if they don't it has been a great year for them.
Didn't know about the eclipse. Perhaps I should endeavor to stay up to see it tonight. Don't have to be to work tomorrow until 9:30 PM.
Got most of my Christmas shopping done over the weekend. I do need to get out to the post office later to get a few things sent out. Hoping that won't be too much of a struggle.
Have a great day everybody!

The post office was a bear on Saturday. And because I was short one box (that I needed to buy since the stuff didn't fit in the free boxes), I spent longer there. I mailed two boxes and an envelope, bought the box I needed (which I probably should have inspected the box size better and bought a smaller one) and then went out to the car and packed the other box. Realized that the box was too big and I could have used some more filling. Oh well. After that I went back into the po and waited in an even longer line to mail the other box. In hindsight, I should have brought the other contents to mail into the po with me the first time and assembled everything while in line. Oh, and I hope that the recipient of that box doesn't mins that it went parcel post and was to be delivered in 6 business days. I didn't have the $$ to keep it at priority mail. Sincde the 6th business day would be Saturday, it won't be delivered until Monday. I'm sure she won't mind. I was also hoping that it may arrive in time anyway. It wasn't like it was going to the west coast. Probably should let her know about it. Maybe later in the week when I'm sure it hasn't arrived.

I'm going to be heading to the post office in just a bit. I have to finish packing up my couple boxes and go get another Christmas card before sending... though I'd picked up cards for my mom and my sister when I was at Hallmark the other day, but I didn't.
I'm planning to take my patience with me to the post office though I plan on just using the automated postal meter there. We'll see how that goes.

We don't have an automated postal meter in our post office. Thinking about it now, I probably should have brought that other stuff in here and sent it out FedEx. It probably would have cost me less and would have definitely arrived on time. Oh well, lesson learned.
Do have fun while there.

GREAT baseball weekend if you're a Brewer fan. Not so good if your a Kansas City Royals fan. I'm both. Though obviously more of a Brewers fan. We picked up Greinke this weekend. Experts are saying that our rotation is now ranked among San Francisco & St. Louis. Only Philadelphia's is considered to be considerably better than anyone else's in the NL.
I dare say our offense is better than ALL those teams though! It's gonna be a fun 2011 in Brew Town! YAAAAAAAY!!!
Oh, and no lunar eclipse for me tonight. If I try to look up at the moon I'll be getting up to four inches of snow in my eye.

I will say that the experience could have been worse. I went to the post office nearest my house which is fairly small compared to the one on the other side of town. It was quite busy, but most people were in line for a live postal employee. There were about 5 people in line in front of me for the automated unit. I actually helped one of them myself... she just needed one stamp and wasn't aware that the automated unit didn't accept cash or coins. I had a stamp in my wallet, so I gave it to her. Things went smoothly from there until the automated unit decided to have issues contacting both Visa and Discover while I was trying to do my transaction. Fortunately, I found a card that it condescended to accept. I popped for second day delivery just to make sure they have a reasonable shot of making their destinations before Christmas.
