There's rain in our forecast! Hopefully it will wash all this dingy white stuff away (not quite the fresh fallen snow look anymore). And I can wash my car! And take the coats to the dry cleaners!
Has anyone invented that transporter yet? We've been invited to a fabulous NYE party in Chicago, but we already committed to another party here, and we're going to see my dad on the 1st. So even if we went up to Chicago for the party, we'd have to get up early on New Year's Day to make it to Kokomo by 2pm.
Mrs Web is off today. She had a personal day that she had to take by the end of the year or she'd lose it. I think the plan here is to put away Christmas.
I haven't gotten the snow blower ready to go yet. I need to change the oil in it, get it full of gas and make sure it's ready to roll. The weather guys are saying chance of white for us on Friday.
But for right now, I think I'll sit here under my blanket and goof off a little first.
Happy Holidays to everyone...been cold here too - but I know no one want's to hear about our 40 degree nights and 60 degree days (normal is around 72) and the fact that we got no snow like most of you...oh well happy holidays anyway.....
Oh yeah, just rub it in. ;) Really though, when you guys get any type of freeze, it really messes up the ecosystem there. I hope your weather warms up soon!
From what our weatherman said, there's a dividing line between Web and us. On his side cold and snowy, on our side warm and rainy. We're getting heat and moisture sent up from down south (sorry Web)
I think I shall take my Christmas stuff down today too. Though that always makes me a bit sad.
This year I didn't put that much up. Just a tree and a few little things. But I hit the after-Christmas clearance and next year will be pretty festive around here. So NEXT year I'll probably set up early and leave the stuff up until after January 1st. This year, meh. Time to tuck it all away.
I hauled three big bins and three big plastic toys to the shop to storage until we have a garage sale this summer.
I changed oil in the snow blower and got it ready to go.
The Christmas tree is cleared off and Mrs Web is packing the ornaments back into the boxes. I got the tree and the big outside wreath packed up and pushed up the attic stairs.
I cleaned and organized the basement some to prepare for Mrs Web's Christmas present (treadmill) that should be coming any day now.
When the boxes are packed up, I'll haul them up to the attic too and Christmas will be officially over and packed away.
When I was rolling up extension cords outside, it made me think . . . this is the first year I can remember that I didn't have to scoop or blow snow over/around the cords strung across the front walk.
Good evening all! I actually did something productive with my day. Slept in until 11 or so, but then decided to do the one thing I have been putting off for a few years now: Clean out my bedroom closet, dresser drawers, and auxillary wardrobe (located in the basement). I'm pleased to report that I donated three 45-gallon trash bags full of clothes and shoes to the local Big Brothers / Big Sisters organization. With the exception of 2 pairs of jeans and 2 sweaters, all were mine. Kev kicked in the jeans voluntarily. I donated 2 of his sweaters because I wore them more than he ever did.
At any rate, it is now literally possible to walk into my walk-in bedroom closet. Additionally, "shoe mountain" no longer exists... that was the pile of shoes that lived between the wingback chair in the corner of my room and the wall. Those shoes are now happily in my closet... and yes, one can still walk all the way in.
My snow blower is ready to fire up. Has been since the weekend after Thanksgiving. I insisted upon that. So far, no reason to use it. The one snow really only piled up in half of the driveway and it was easier to shovel.
Christmas deco will be taken down on Sunday. I'm sticking with the tradition.
Otherwise, not much going on. I'm finally giving me a chance to relax for the evening. I'll vacuum my room tomorrow.
Hope everyone had a great day.
