Good day all.

They're talking about a snowstorm for us tomorrow. I hope they're wrong.

Hi all!  So far this winter we've been really lucky and haven't had hardly any snow.  Fine by me since I don't like it anyway.  I have a feeling old man winter has me in his sights though; he usually hits us full blast in January and February.

Hope everybody has a good day! smile

Hi Ghost!

Yeah, aren't you supposed to be getting all this snow? Can we send it back up to you?

Happily, the boss strongly suggested I keep my broken booty at home today. Says the roads are horrible and that not much has been done. I'm guessing that is probably true... I heard a snow plow go down the road just outside of my 'hood about an hour ago, but nothing since. The wuzband is on his way out of town for the night... spoke to him about 45 minutes ago and he said that I-70 is pretty bad. The worst part of the snow has yet to get here. Supposed to be here in about 2 hours.

Mz... I think the storm headed your way is the one that is hitting me right now. The good news is that it is the light, fluffy snow not the wet, heavy stuff.

Hey Ghost! Nice to see you around. smile.gif I'm glad you are catching the break. The weather prognosticators all said my area might get 7 inches of snow all winter. We are supposed to get that today, so hoping this is it for me. (yeah.. riiiiiiight!)

G'mornin.

We gots snow. I haven't heard the official total, but I'd say about 8" and it's still snowing. Like Mema said, it's really light and fluffy. That makes it easier to move, but if the wind comes up, we'll have quite the ground blizzard. The grader is just now going by cleaning our street.

Schools are closed. I took Mrs Web to work in the van so she didn't have to bust through the ridges in the car.

Grammar question . . . I've been working on a site makeover for the church. Which is more correcter:

1. Our services are broadcast live on Sunday mornings ....
2. Our services are broadcasted live on Sunday mornings .....

I think "broadcasted" sounds more like what I'd say, but it seems like "broadcast" is probably more correct. What do you think?

It would be "are broadcast." If you used "broadcasted," it would need to say, "were broadcasted," which I don't think is what you're going for.

That makes sense. That is what I used, but it just looks strange to me.

Morning all. We had snow on Friday morning and again Saturday. It was the light, fluffy stuff. We are going to get hit again tomorrow afternoon through Wednesday. I think is it the storm all of you have or will be getting soon. Early estimates are 4-8 inches. Normally with that kind of continuous snow event I wouldn't worry about work. However, the timing really sucks. Besides working on month/quarter/annual stuff, I have an auditor due here Wednesday morning. I am not happy about it. I could easily take a spreadsheet home and spend half the day breaking it into the pieces I need, but what am I to do with an out-of-state auditor?

I just peeked outside again... still snowing, but back to the little flakes. Again, right on schedule. How polite of this storm to be so prompt. giggle.gif

We had those tiny things for the better part of Saturday. There was a period of those big, fat flakes but then it went back to the tiny things. I don't know what kind we are getting tomorrow and through Tuesday night.

When I worked at the cabinet shop in Lincoln, the secretary was a "know it all" kind of gal.

I remember one day it was snowing and she came out of the office and announced: "The flakes are really big, that means it's almost done."

Then an hour later she came out again: "The flakes are really small, that means it's going to snow a lot."

Really? Why didn't it stop when the flakes were big?

laughing.gif I consulted the local radar... it is going to crank up again in a bit. Most of the storm has passed, but the smaller second wave is on the way.

I wonder what she would say about a 50/50 mix of big and small which is what is currently falling.

I had no idea that flake size was an indication of storm timeliness.

I guess it comes down to whether size matters.
