It is Thursday, isn't it? I could never get the hang of Thursdays...
We've got maybe an inch and a half of snow on the ground so far, the light and fluffy stuff. People are cleaning off the sidewalks with leaf blowers, so it's not too bad yet. But the roads are snow covered, and I haven't seen a plow. I don't get it.
Morning all, no snow here at the moment, quite nice today actually but we had a fair bit of snow in November and December, was a pain in the you know what, England grinds to a halt as soon as we see snow, we just can't cope with it at all.
We got the snow. It is really light and fluffy, but It looks to me like we got another 8-10" of it. The forecast said we should expect two.
School is a 10:00am start. I went out to get a jump on moving snow, but the blower won't start. It will later, once it warms up some. I've got it sitting up next to the garage with the sun on it so hopefully it will warm up in an hour or so.
Good morning all. It isn't snowing here today, but it is really cold! So far this winter has been on the "mild" side here....we've missed all the big snowstorms; they've either stayed well south of us or have skipped over us and hit the East coast. Usually by this time of the year we have close to 3 feet of snow on the ground, but we've only got about 4 inches right now, and that's come a little bit at a time. Everyone is saying that we're way over-due for a big snowstorm; we're kind of holding our breath while wondering when it's going to come and how much we're going to get.
Mz, your snow removal sounds like our's. My city doesn't plow the roads too often anymore. They tend to wait until much later in the day, after traffic has helped melt it off the roads, then decide if they need to send the plows out. And they don't plow any of the side streets anymore. We're lucky if they even salt the roads.
Good day, all! Snowmageddon is all but passed my area. The forecast was dead on... I didn't measure it but it looked to be about 7 inches of not-quite-so-light-and-fluffy snow in my driveway this morning. I got up early to shovel... too early to fire up the snow blower. Got me all done then went and got together for work. Meanwhile, a snow plow came through and buried the end of the driveway. Nothing irritates me like the mountain of snow and ice at the end of the driveway, so a-shoveling again I went. Just got to the office a bit ago. The boss was kinda bent with me for driving in, but laughed when I told him that the sickest part of my soul really enjoyed fishtailing down the interstate.
Hope everyone has a great day.

Morning all. We are due for 1-3 inches of snow overnight into tomorrow. And then more throughout the day tomorrow. I have had it with the snow thing happening evey 3-4 days around here. There are even saying there could be more Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. We are also due to drop into those single digit overnight temps tonight through Sunday night. Well, if it's going to be super cold, it is a good thing it is a busy sports day Sunday. There is a hockey game on before the football games. I guess I probably should find something to cook in the crockpot all afternoon.

By covering the snowblower up with a tarp and pointing an electric heater under it for about 1/2 hour, I was able to warm it up enough that it started.
So, I got home and two neighbor ladies snow moved. I ate some lunch, and now off to take care of grandma, then to the shop to see what I can do there.
Mornin' all (hey, it's mornin' for me, I just got up)
THEY say the snow will go to the south, but they ALSO SAY the cold will cut right through here. Below zero lows tonight with wind chills of up to -24. That means I'll have to go outside and run the car at least once in the middle of the night at work to make sure nothing freezes up on me.
January is the worst month ever. We should just skip it and go right from December to February. Or move January to between June & July where it would be warmer.
I'm sure she'd give me a cookie if I'd stay. And, she'd love for me to stay a while and visit, but when I'm "snowblower ready" with over shoes, hoodie sweatshirt, bib coveralls, and another top coat, It's too much work to un-bundle the re-bundle again. So, I do snow removal hit and run style.
