It's just assumed that we all know: It's Friday

Good day all.

I'm still loading things onto my new computer.  It has Windows 7 64 bit, so I'm finding lots of things that don't work with it.  Like my printer.  Considering the warranty on that printer ran out in 1999, I guess it's time for a new one.  It's still a pain wanting to do something to find that I need to install something before I can continue.

Good day, all! TGIF!!! This week has seemed to be about 5 years long. Got a ton of stuff to do today, so it feels like today will be an uphill battle til quitting time. I need a bit of a break.

Hope everybody has a great day.

Morning all. I am currently fueled on a soft pretzel and a regular soda. If anyone wants a pretzels there are some still on my desk.

I hope this work day goes quickly. I agree with M that it has been a long week. I'm sure all you snowy people have had a rougher week. I'm just working my way to 4pm. I can feel the muscles in my neck tightening. And all I am doing right now is going through 1099s. Darn. My meeting reminder just popped up. I am not in the mood to hold this girl's hand while she does this license fee.

Wow, that's a long time to have a printer!  Was it a nice one?

Seems like I get a different printer every 3 or 4 years.

I just got a Windows 7 laptop recently.  I don't notice much difference from Vista.  I still think Vista wasn't as bad as everyone made it out to be, at least not the later versions.

There are some nice features in 7 though.

Yes, it's a very nice printer and still going strong (it an HP LaserJet 5000, in case you're curious).  I've never had any problems with it.  The Etch is going to inherit it now, we'll see how long before she breaks it.

I have Vista on my laptop and don't like it.  It's such a memory hog.  Whenever it does that dim the screen to ask you if you really want to install it thing, it severly slows everything down.  It seems like it has to switch the color mode for everything too.  Even though I've had it for years, it also seems like the system settings I need to get to are buried.

But I'm liking 7 so far.  It seems much more intuitive.  I rely on the show desktop button a lot, so I'm having a hard time reprogramming myself to go to the little square on the right hand side of the toolbar.  I'm not sure I like the Skype icon being on the toolbar all the time either, I liked it better when it minimized to the icons by the clock.  But maybe that's an option I need to find and turn back on?
