Good day, all. Not a lot going on here at the moment. I decided to work from home today. It has been a long couple of weeks. Might as well enjoy some down time while I can.
Hope everybody has a great day!

Well, this has been one of those weeks where the office energy has been icky. Hopefully we all will have a good weekend and come back with better attitudes. I got sucked in a couple times and the day is not over...
The NEEDY ONE is in Houston and just sent me an e-mail.
I show the balance remaining for the (contractor) consulting fees to be $0.00. I assume we are due to receive payment (from customer) in the near future is that correct?
Now, how woud y'all answer that question? This was my response.
Yes, it is correct that you assume that.

The best part of your answer, DS, is that the Needy One will probably not read past the "Yes". But oh look... didn't you just get that check for $0.00 today? Several days early? Does that contractor get a discount for early payment? If so your company might owe them a refund.

I'm just here. Not in a great mood, not in a bad mood. It wasn't a great week, it wasn't a bad week.
Tomorrow night we are meeting family at "Tub's Pub" for dinner to celebrate my dad's 70th birthday (which is actually the 10th). That is about 45 miles from here, BUT they have the best prime rib within 46 miles (that I know of). So, it will be a good meal and a fun time celebrating my papa's birthday.
I also found out some good news a couple days ago. Mrs Web has informed me that we will be going to Omaha to a Keith Urban concert on August 20th. I don't mind going, but I'm not excited about it either. I happened to think about checking the Casting Crowns (the group I saw last summer) tour schedule and it just so happens that they are in Lincoln the night before! Yay!
So, we could leave here about noon on Friday, get to Lincoln and settled in, then go to the Crowns concert. Then Saturday, we could spend the day in Lincoln, head up to Omaha for Keith that night, come back to Lincoln after that concert, and then come home Sunday. Sounds like a good deal to me. I'll have to be on top of getting tickets for Casting Crowns though. They are in a large church which still in concert terms is not a huge venue, so I'll need to pounce on getting tickets as soon as they are available.
I apparently said the wrong thing (again). I told my wife: "This will work out good, we could see the Crowns on Friday night and then Keith on Saturday night and we'll both be happy!"
She got really ticked off and said "Hey! If you don't want to go see Keith, I can easily find someone else who does want to go!"
Sheesh.
My wife is a very smart woman . . . but there is one simple concept that she hasn't grasped yet. I really don't mind going to Keith's concert. I think he's a very good musician. I respect his talent. I actually enjoy some of his music. She just doesn't understand that her open displays of lust, adoration, and obsession for this man kind of makes it difficult for me to get all that excited about him. She told me once "Oh, you're just jealous of him and you don't need to be." I said "No, I'm not jealous OF HIM. He's worked very hard for his success and he deserves that. I'm jealous of the attention, desire, and attraction that you have for him." She can't see the difference or the underlying issue there.
Anyway, we'll see how it works out. It may be a double-concert weekend in August.
I think it's fair to be jealous of any man that your wife appears to like better than you. Having a crush on a celebrity is one thing, as long as you are obviously still the #1 man in her life.
Web, maybe you need to try a little harder... You have a guitar; sing her a little song.
Oh, and just FYI, never-ever-EVER let your partner know what makes you jealous! You might as well be standing naked in front of a firing squad with out even a cigarette...

Hello all. Sorry I haven't been around much lately. I've been in a weird sleep pattern. I get home at 5 AM and I'm wide awake. I've been sleeping until 4 every day and then because the sleep is so broken I'm still tired so I take a nap before work which is probably why the next morning I'm wide awake.
Hopefully this weekend I can break the cycle.
But today, I'm going back to bed for a pre-work nap. Goodnight!
Web... I hope it works out for you. It is a shame that Mrs. Web doesn't understand your point of view. Probably the only way to make her understand would be to go all ga-ga over some female celebrity and constantly throw it in her face... but then again you are not that kind of guy.
Two concerts in one weekend would be a blast. I hope it works out for you and you both enjoy both shows.
