Good day all.

I have that presentation to give today. I'm nervous.

Good luck, Mz. I'm sure you'll do great!

School is on today, but we have a 10:00am start. I gotta get a boy fed and pointed in the right direction.

Good day, all. Another busy week for me. At least I am consistently at my desk today (so far) and might actually get a few things accomplished. It is colder and rainy... 36* at present.

Good luck, Mz.

Web... have fun getting the boy to school.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Good luck with the presentation, Mz!

Thank y'all for the condolences yesterday on Little Bear. It's like Mr. DS said, "I like him more than I like most people." We didn't sleep well last night.

Switching to a happier subject... This morning I had parent-teacher conference with Isaac's teacher and he is doing very well academically. His reading improved from 1.4 grade level in September to 5.2 grade level in January! w00t.gif

Go Mz Go! You will rock!

Morning all. I've been assembling a PPT return this morning. I'm almost finished with it. It is always good to get these things out of the way with plenty of time for review. I do need to attack the CA and TX returns. Ugh. But as of now, I'll put CA off at least a day and finish other small things. I have to spend quite a bit of time breaking down the original file into several files for each state and I am not in the mood to do that today.

Wow . . . 1.4 to 5.2 is a HUGE jump. Good job, Isaac!

I know what Mr Ds means about Little Bear. I had that kind of connection with the first boxer we had after we got married. I've not come close to that kind of a connection with either of our two dogs since. When we had to put him down (cancer), I was a mess for days.

My brother thought it was funny that I was taking it so hard . . . but that's my brother. If he doesn't understand it, it's wrong, stupid, or unimportant.

I had to ask the teacher, "Are you sure you looking at his score?" And she checked again, then she looked back to September when they first tested. There are a a few contrubuting in this huge jump in reading as well as his improvement in behaviour -- Glasses -- His eye-to-brain processing has finally started working properly because he can see. Saturday Reading School -- His school offers it free to any student who needs the extra help or just wants to go. Omega 3-6-9 -- I think it has helped with his mood and behavior.

Great job by Isaac! clap.gifw00t.gif

For most people our pets become almost like our children. It is devastating to lose a beloved member of your family. Anybody who doesn't understand that has either not experienced that kind of bond or has something seriously amiss in their emotional spectrum.

I'm sorry for your loss, DS. That has to be rough.

Awesome job Isaac!!

Well, I'm still alive. Actually, I think it went really well. The guy that presented before me pretty much just got up there and rambled, which made me look better. I think I have this habit of speeding up as I go along and not stopping to take breaths, so I was out of breath come the end of it. But people had questions, and I have quotes to send out, so I think it went really well. And the videographer and a couple other people told me I did a good job.

And those potential customers will be happy with their quotes and the speed of service that Mz provides.

Mz - bring your boss over to the screen and let her read this:

Dear Mz's boss,

We want you to know that Mz rocks, is a great worker and will be bringing more business to the company. We feel she deserves a bigger quarterly bonus. She is definitely worth it. nod.gif

Sincerely,

The FFR Freaks

My boss would probably tell you that you're preaching to the choir. She does treat me well. And any time I drive my car on company business, even in times like this where I'm going half a mile, she fills up my gas tank. And if I'm gone around lunch, she buys me lunch too. As much as I complain about work, they do try to give me as many incentives as they can.

They don't like the thought of me going back to school, because it means I'll eventually leave, even if it means 10 years from now.

Sounds familiar...

I will be with THE COMPANY 20 years next month. I had only planned on doing 2 years and going back to school, but the little perks and not being micromanaged kept me here. THE MAN is good to me as is the SHE BOSS. When I had Isaac and went on maternity leave, I had saved enough money to get us by, but THE MAN paid me my full weeks salary the whole time I was off.

Being appreciated counts for a lot.

Indeed it does. That is another great thing about my boss. He does whatever he can for us... comp time, praise, raises when possible, flexible scheduling... whatever it takes.

Since E bridged my time when they bought my job, I hit my 20 year service anniversary on August 12. Man, that makes me feel old!

I wish I could find a company that I wanted to stay with that long. I seem to be in the 5 year range per company with the exception of my last job. I couldn't help a merger and subsequent layoff. Otherwise I might still be there. I have found that the smaller companies are a better for me. The two large companies that I have been a part of weren't/aren't good for me.
