I had a rough night last night. After writing group, I came home with a killer headache and a fever. I managed to get a sandwich in me for supper, then went to bed. I managed to sleep most of the night, but I kept waking up because I was either shivering or burning up. At one point I was sweating so much that the sheets were wet, I'm assuming that's probably when the fever broke.
Compared to last night, I'm feeling much better today. My throat still hurts, but my temperature is pretty stable and my head doesn't really hurt. I stopped at the store to get some Aleeve-D, but of course I didn't pick up any kleenex.
One of the things that really bug me is how many pharmacies ignore their customers. I was standing at the counter for several minutes before I was finally helped, which seems to happen all the time at just about any pharmacy. I understand if they're in the middle of counting something out or something, but that should take a few seconds, not minutes. And couldn't I at least get a courtesy, "I'll be right with you,"?
I had to go back to the dentist and have this last new crown worked on. It was too tall to where when I chewed it was the only thing hitting. It's much better now. Hopefully I'm done with Dr. Drillmeister for a while. Actually, I'm pretty impressed with this dentist. He was quick and as gentle as I think any dentist can be.
We're looking for a high of 72 today. That will be PERFECT if we get there.
Mrs Web stayed home "sick" today. She was having a bad case of "not wanting to deal with coworkers".
Good morning. Sorry you had a rough night, Mz. Glad you're feeling better.
My pharmacy is bad about ignoring it's customers too. Yesterday after work, I went to pick up a scrip and stood at the counter for about five minutes -- no other customers -- and wasn't acknowledged. Then a few more customers trickled in behind me -- still nothing for a couple minutes. Then one of the techs ask the guy BEHIND me, "Can I help you, sir?" I gave her the and the guy behind me said, "I believe she has been standing here longer." The tech said, "Oh, I'm sorry. I thought you'd already been helped; how can I help you?" I haven't been in my usual chipper tollerant mood, and I just couldn't help myself, "You can get another tech to help me," I told her.

Good day, all. Yes, it is Wednesday. I'm really glad of it too... since it is my Friday. I'm taking the next couple days off. This week has been long enough already.
Today's work day started at 4AM for me... thanks to yesterday being such a mess that I didn't have time to check in here. The good news is that we are off to a rollicking good start today and it looks like the vendor testing that I was going to be missing for the next 2 days is being postponed until next week... so I really might get 2 actual days off instead of 2 days where I periodically log in and do some work but call it vacation.
We'll see how this day goes.
Mz... hope you continue to feel better. Major bummer getting that spring time cold.
Everybody... have a great day.

I think I might take a mental health day tomorrow. I really need the hours, but I'm thinking I need to get away from the office BS too. And tomorrow is supposed to be a nice day here too. But, THE MAN is back from Houston, and he might need something.
I over-think things...

Afternon all. What a rough day. It started raining around 11pm last night through this morning. I have the "someone is trying to drill another hole in my head" headache today. I was here for about a half hour before I had to do the meeting thing. Then I came back to my desk and statred to do some work. Did about 10 minutes worth before I got the "Are you ready for your new computer?" form the IT guy. Then after he put everything together, installed my one special software and moved all of my stuff it was just about lunchtime. So then I had lunch. I am currently trying to figure out which way is up right now. I lost some of the room on my desk which is not all that big to begin with. I have papers everywhere too. I just want the headache to go away.
So now I still have a headache, a new computer (with Windows 7 and Office 2010) and a second monitor. I suppose that is a good thing. But this 2010 Office thing is going to take some getting use to.

I think office 2010 is a little funky. It is going to take a little getting use to. It is the tasks bars that are different. I also need to check to see what I need to do about the different versions of Office between me and the boss. He'll be in town the last week of the month, so I'll have IT update his software then.

There is a really cool way to add a shortcut start menu that pops out from the task bar in Win 7.
1. In your Documents folder, make a folder called "Launch"
2. Make another folder within "Launch" and call it something short. I have four folders, one called "SS" (for work", one called "PS" (for personal), one called "AVI" (for audio/video tools), and one called "UT" (for utilities)
3. Drag shortcuts into your folder(s) that you made
4. You may have to right click on the task bar -> Toolbars -> Put a check in the new folder(s)
Now, you should have a pop up menu that makes it quick to get to whatever you put in those folders. I have very few icons on my screen. I put everything in that menu so my desktop is clean and clutter-free.
Thanks. I'll have to try that. I hate how all the buttons are gone. Until I have a chance to play with it and figure things out, I have been using keyboard shortcuts for print, open, save. What was wrong with the old task bars I ask you?
