Where do YOU live Thumper....Cheapest regular gas around here is $2.79 It was closing in on $4.00 in some places shortly after Katrina, but most of them fell back to around $3.29...It's so sad that I'm jealous that you are paying $2.49 for gas.....When i graduated college I could count on a monthly Gas credit card bill of around $100 (if I could stretch it...I could get away with only 3 fills in a pay period.... Worked close to home...fill once right before the pay period started, once right after it ended....only like $67 it was great....
Now I spend nearly $100 A WEEK (2 fills at about $50 a tank)...I work about 32 miles from home...so 65 mile round trip daily...plus other stops....
did I mention I only graduated college 3 years ago...
Oklahoma has always had the lowest gas prices in times like these. in Tulsa it went up to 3.25 after Katrina in a weeks time but since sept 6 it dropped from 3.25 to 3.09 to 2.95 to 2.80 to 2.49 to 2.30.
It went up to 2.35 a few days ago. Hit 2.49 yesterday on my way to work at 5 pm and went to2.59 after 6 pm tonight
It was $2.75 when I got gas on Tuesday, but I've got a Kroger Plus card, so I got it for $2.64. Can you remember when we were complainging that it was $1.50! This is pitiful! When I first started driving, it was $.79 a gallon, and I'm the youngest here!
