Our CEO at work is a good guy. But his thing is to walk around and call everybody (male) "Big Guy". "What's up, big guy." "How's that goin, big guy." Most of us chuckle it off and figure he has a lot on his mind that names don't always pop up for him when under stress.


BUT


There is a small contingent of  CEO wanna be's/ BROWN NOSERS who blatantly have taken over this "big guy" thing. It usually happens after a group meeting with the CEO that fired someone up and they are feeling they can take on the world "HEY BIG GUY!"


One of the dock guys even called me "Big Guy" the other day too.....I think maybe he called me that instead of a swear word, but that's his problem.....


SO
does your CEO have any quirks and is there a contingency of wanna be's who mimic his/her manurisms, way of dress, attitude?

I have a co-worker that calls everyone Big Guy or Stud or Chief. Not to be confused with the weirdo in the bathroom who likes to call everyone dude.

I refer to people as Chick or Dude, and sometimes call people Mate. I'm the weirdo, aren't I?

Luckily, I work in a small office, so we don't have the wannabe click, and the CEO is all right.

Molly, the weirdo I was reffering to was the guy that thinks the air is much better to sniff while his bojangles are out in the open! I still can't talk to that guy. I call people dude or dudette alot.

I think nick-names like that are ok, it just bugs me when the wanna be's are trying to emulate the CEO. Get that nose reeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaalllllll brown...

At least you aren't working for a CEO that has a foreign accent. When he yells at his sales staff (and he will at length, along with every name in the book) and calls them an idiot, it actually sounds like he is calling them an igit. You really have to hear it to know what I mean. Of course that is slowly changing since they are starting to reorganize.
