We have our concert weekend set up in August. We will be going to Lincoln on the 19th to see Casting Crowns for me, then the 20th we'll be in Omaha to see Keith Urban for Mrs Web.
It was an interesting deal gettting the Casting Crowns tickets. They are going to be at a big church that are set up to have occasional concerts. I've been watching their event page waiting for tickets to come available. Saturday, I found out that ticket sales begin April 16th but they had an option for entering a "Presale" code on the page. I'm thinking that the presale option is for members of a "fan club", mailing list, or something like that. So, I Googled to see what one needs to do to get the presale code. The first result on Google I got was for a listing of previous shows (from two years ago) and their presale codes. I looked at 3-4 of them and all the codes were "CROWNS". So, went back to the tickets page, entered "CROWNS" in the presale code box and I was in. So, I selected my seats (2nd row as the 1st row was blocked off) and purchased tickets.
Yesterday, I got an email from the church event coordinator saying that he saw I purchased tickets with the presale code. He said that code was only to allow event volunteers first choice at getting tickets, but he had not given the volunteers the code yet, so he was wondering how/where I got the code. I replied and showed him how I Googled for presale info, the results page and code I got, and that I tried the code and it worked. I told him that if it was a problem, he could move us if he needed to. He said it was ok, but he was a little freaked out that there was some leak inside their event staff.
I tried the code again later in the day and it has been changed.
Since they hadn't even started selling the presale tickets yet and the entire front row was marked off, makes me wonder if they are not using the front row for this event and we will actually be the front row. Or, like JR said, maybe they just automatically reserve the front row for VIPs or something.
Anyway, it will be awesome to be up front that close to see my mostest favoritest group.
Good day, all. Yep... Monday again. There is not a lot going on around here today, but that's not such a bad thing. The weather is fairly pleasant and no one is breathing down the back of my neck for anything.
Since the government didn't shut down, it looks like I will be moving forward with getting my visa applied for. I went and got my picture taken for that on Friday. I look really, really angry in the picture. It makes me laugh!
Ah well... hope everyone has a great day.
Enjoy the concert, Web!

I'm glad they let you keep the seats, Web! Even if it is second row instead of first, still sweet seats!
Of course you look angry in the picture Mema!
I'm a bit swamped today after being out on Friday. But the trip was good and I learned a lot. The plan was to stop to see one of our manufacturer's while we were in the area, and we think one of our reps there might have a crush on me. We got there and learned he had quit half an hour before. When I got home that evening, he had sent me an email saying sorry he missed us, but he did what he had to do. I told him that it was okay, I understand situations like that, and wished him luck. Then he asked if I was still in town.
Afternoon all. The countdown is on. This should be my last fully swamped week. And there will definitely be no working Saturday this week so that should keep me down around 50-52 hours. Lucky me. I'm also still trying to get month/quarter end stuff done too so I can have next Monday off.

Good day all. What a beautiful day in Wisconsin. Partly sunny with the temp hovering in the upper 60's and a light breeze. Pretty much my idea of a perfect day! Unfortunately my mood is ruined by the fact I start a six day work week in 7 hours. Work SUCKS! I say we all become independently wealthy! Who's got the idea to get us started?
I don't know if this will qualify as an idea to get us moving along the independently wealthy path, but I just saw it on a friend's Facebook post and it is cracking me up:
Roses are red
Violets are blue
...I have a gun
Get in the van
