Would it be Rude to throw in ear plugs in the office??


There is so much whinning and needless chatter here, so many people with their personal cell phone ringers on loud when they are not there to answer them, they have been warned repeatedly about this, so much snippinesss........I need to concentrate hard sometimes, so earphones are not always an option. I need silence.... I am going to grab earplugs from the print floor....screw em!

Personally, I can't stand silence, but earphones with light jazz or classical music in those situations sometimes works for me. Or, get the really big headphone type mufflers and put a sign on your back that says LEAVE ME ALONE!

That is one of the biggest downfalls of cubicals...

JD - I would do it. I used to put the headphones on just to avoid all the noise and nonsense. If anyone asks just tell them you need to concentrate and you thought the ear plugs would help.


See Molly understands me. Those big, obvious one are exactly what I used. Besides, they also kept out more noise.

You could tell them you just put your medicine in your ears and the plugs are to keep it in.

Obstruct the entrance to your cubicle (boxes work well) and stick that sign on the outside.
