Morning all. It is an absolutely gorgeous morning here. I hate that I need to be in the office.
June 3rd is National Doughnut Day. The "holiday" honors the Salvation Army "doughgirls" who handed out the sweet treats to soldiers on the front lines during World War I.
I really would like a doughnut (or two) and a glass of milk now.

Man, I wish I could have doughnuts. I could go for a jelly-filled with powdered sugar on top. Or just a simple glazed donut. The yeast-type mind you, none of that cake donut stuff.
I can make my own donuts. But most powdered sugar has corn starch in it, and then there's the whole corn oil thing that they're more than likely fried in. The problem with making my own donuts is that they go stale fast, and I can't eat that many in a day.
Happy Donut Day! After hearing it on the radio this morning, I came so close to stopping by the donut shop -- even had my turn signal on -- but I remembered, "I have a snack bag of cheerios." If I would have caved, I would have taken a plain cake donut, a maple long john and a chocolate milk.

Dang, I didn't know it was donut day or I may have picked one up on the way in too.
I got the shop all trimmed. I usually go around the building, individual trees and things like that every 2-3 weeks. Today I did the whole thing, all around the fence, under the two rows of cedar trees, etc. Boy are my arms tired.
It's the last day before garage sale. We still have stuff to price but other than that, we're pretty much ready. Mrs Web took today off work to finish getting ready. Last night, she and I had a conversation that wen like this:
Mrs W: Do you think I'll be able to get all this priced tomorrow, I do have that open house to go to in the afternoon.
Me: Well, if you come out and get started good time, you'll be fine . . . if you just get up like it's a normal work day and come out at 8:00.
What kind of plans do y'all have for the weekend? Looks like the Web's will be having a garage sale.
I will pick up Dolly tonight. Tomorrow is the "Route 66 Blowout" downtown, so the kids and I will roam around the booths; check out the "oldies" (vintage cars), as Isaac calls them; visit the art show. Maranda rented a booth to sell her hair flower thingies (clips) and she will enter a few pieces in the art show.
I guess Sunday, I will try to shop for a swimsuit. I promised Isaac that I would take him to the pool this summer. Why I made such a promise, I cannot say; I must have been out of my mind! Me: Should I get a bikini? Isaac: Ummm... If you want to. (This was really more like a question) Me: Am I too chunky for a bikini? Isaac: *long contemplative pause* Most of the moms I've seen at the pool usually wear shorts and t-shirt.
Fish tacos for supper Saturday night!

Gotta move the gun cabinet out of Donald's house this weekend. Otherwise, I'll probably need to mow the yard and run some errands. Nothing fun planned at this point.

My brother emptied it out a week before Donald died. Just the cabinet. But it is really a beautiful piece of furniture. The upper part has a rack big enough to hold 16 long guns. Huge shelves in the lower part. Mostly made of oak, but it has glass doors on the top.

Very heavy. Fortunately I didn't have to carry the heavy part. I carried some of the doors out once they were taken off the cabinet. The guy who bought it brought a buddy with him to help with the lugging... and Little Man was nice enough to offer to come over and help too. I gave him Donald's picnic table and benches for his troubles.
