And now, we take you live to WebGuy reporting from Central Nebraska:
The boys won their away game last night, 10-3. Last year, this team kicked our butts. There were many on last year's team that were the maximum age they could be. This year, those kids moved on up and they have a much younger team. In the 8-10 year old age group, two years can make a big difference in skill levels.
My kid was happy, he had a good game.
My nephew is out of baseball for the season. He was at football camp and while showering after a practice, another kid said "Dude! What's wrong with your leg!?" He didn't know anything was wrong, but he had a huge bubble of blood under the skin on the back of his leg. The coaches at camp immediately took him to the doctor and then a sports specialist. Apparently he damaged his hamstring and they told him no sports or stress of any kind for a month or he could do permanant damage. That takes him out of baseball at least, and then in a month they will evaluate again. He's hoping he will still be able to play football with practice starting in August.
We had a thunderstorm go over. That is what today's pic is from.
I now return you to your regularly scheduled Thursday . . .
Oh man, wow, I hope your nephew is okay and that this isn't any permanent damage.
This has been a very emotional week around here, personally and in our town. A college student has been missing here for a week with no leads. It's probably silly, but the way I walk to work is through a little wooded area, and I've been taking a meandering route and looking around, just in case I might see something. It's hard, because homeless sometimes camp out back there, so it's not unusual to see clothes and such laying around, but I haven't seen anything that fits the description of what she wore that night. I would assume that's an area that police would search in even though it's not around the place she was last seen, especially since they're searching the lake and such just outside of town; but I do wonder if I should suggest they look there, or will I just be adding to what's probably countless unfounded suggestions they're likely receiving.
