I am in the habit of never having cash on me. It is a good habit, I do not spend a dollar here or there. But my son hates it, because he can never bum a buck off me! But it all adds up and keeps my junk spending in check!
I usually have less than $20 on me. I try to keep a little in my wallet for the occasional stop for a pop or something like that. I don't carry very much though.
Like Ray, I usually have about $20 or less on me. When I know I can only spend so much, I carry my "allowance" in cash and leave the debit card at home so I don't overspend, but that's usually a one time trip type thing.
I also do not carry much cash. It is so different these days when you can pay for many things with a debit card. You do not have to worry if you have enough money in your pocket (just in your account). I only have a little excess in the wallet if I am headed out with friends for the night.

I don't carry much cash on me either, usually less than $5.00 in pocket change. I have a check book or debit card. My wallet was stolen a few years ago with over $300.00 in cash. Makes you kind of sour. I quit carrying important items like pictures and such also.

I don't carry much cash, especially if I am heading out to a concert. The best venue in Milwaukee (The Rave) is in a crackhead neighborhood. More than once I've told a crackhead hustling for 80 cent outside that I don't carry cash because there are too many beggars in the neighborhood, and I wasn't lying.
