O.K. I need some computer help...

Does anyone know how to make the little smilies appear in Outlook express when you use the symbols to make it. You know, makes a smile, etc. I'm not that savvy and need some help here.

I don't use Outlook Express, but in Outlook I think you actually have to insert the picture.

Unfortunately I don't know. I don't use Outlook Express. Hopefully someone else will know.

trish just type :) when you want their version of the smile to appear, and it should automatically make that face.

I'm looking in Outlook Express now . . .

I don't think it works that way in Email.

It looks like when composing a message, you have to go to Insert->Picture and have the image (smiley) on your hard drive to insert it in the body of the message. I don't think email will automatically convert the symbols to the images.

Outlook will not automatically convert the symbols to the images. I believe that you have to insert them.

In some I think it was set up as part of auto-correct.

When I worked for another company, I had outlook express and it did it. Another lady here at work has the same program as me and hers does it. My computer must just hate me. Sigh.

Oh I can relate. I actually think that little E is going to surpass her mother in the area!

Unfortunately, I've already found out that my daughter, Molly, who is only five, has already done that. Though she likes to call herself a fashion diva as opposed to drama queen. Tomato....tomahto.
