Morning all. I don't know about you guys, but this seemed like a long work week to me. It may be one of those days. It was 90* at 7:30am. I hurt myself while getting dressed. Seriously, it was pathetic. So, who knows wjat the remainder of the day will bring.

I have too much to do and not enough time to do it in. I want to try to skip out of work early today since we have a 4 hour drive ahead of us and we still have to pack the cooler and put everything in the car for our camping trip. Right now I'm obsessed with not forgetting anything.
Sami's okay, the vet couldn't find anything seriously wrong with her. But man, she was a spitfire at the office. Normally, even at the vet, she's a loving, patient kitty. I was running late getting home in time, so we had to wake her up from her nap and whisk her off instead of doing it the slow, reassuring way. Then, I think the vet tech is very new and not used to taking a cat's temperature, which is her least favorite part anyway, and it really pissed her off. She hissed and growled at him! Then when the vet came in and started examining her, she swiped at the vet. Dr. Pinkerton knows Sami, and said, "This isn't the sweet little kitty I remember!" Between that and Sami's history, the vet thought we should do blood tests to make sure something more serious wasn't going on. Apparently, when they were taking her blood, she got a good swipe at the vet tech. When they brought her back in the room, she cuddled up in my arms and wouldn't move. But the blood tests came out fine, and the vet says she's really healthy for a 10 year old cat. So we're just going to add some fish oil to her diet and monitor her for a while, and if it doesn't get better, we'll take her back in for xrays.
That's very possible too. I left the car running and the a/c on full blast when I went in the house to pick her up, but it was still hot. I can't blame her for being cranky.
It's kind of funny, Brian is "her human," but there's still no replacement for Mommy. She has no qualms about swiping at Brian if he pets her too much or is antagonizing her, but neither cat will bite or scratch me. And when they're scared, they come to me.
Who is ready for a nap? I guess the week has caught up with me. I thought I slept pretty well last night. I was in bed and tunred the tv off at 11. It took me a little while to finally drift off. I was awake shortly before 1 but went right back to sleep. Then my body knew it was time to get up and it woke me a few minutes before the alarm went off.

I know it is a 100*, but did you have coffee this morning? If not, maybe you nee a beverage to help you power through the morning. Soda time is usually 11am. I've been drinking water but I feel like I'm dragging. Maybe I need to get up and talk a walk around the office. I own one of the ladies $10 for St. Jude. So if I have it with me I supposed I could deliver that to her.

I did have my coffee already, but I'm due for a 2nd cup sometime soon. If I pick up Starbucks, I only need the one cup of espresso. But I used my instant this morning, which usually takes 2 cups. For instant, it's really good, a brand called Mount Hagen. It's still better than the crappy half-caf they have downstairs.
I'm working on getting some things in order before we take off for vacation next week.
Tonight is the annual car/chrome show in the city square. I might take the camera down and see if I can get some pics of old and shiny things. I'll see how hot it is then.
