SAN DIEGO -- A sport utility vehicle and a boat parked on Hill Street in Sunset Cliffs fell into a sinkhole that opened beneath them, 10News reported. Officers arrived at the sinkhole at about 3:15 a.m. Tuesday. The sinkhole was caused by a broken water main. "You can see the failure, where it failed. It actually has a circumference break all the way around," said Tedi Jackson of the City of San Diego Water Department. Jackson said the pipe is made of concrete and is considered relatively new from the 1970s. The family who owns the SUV and boat is taking it all in stride. "It's what we do as a family, is go out on that boat," homeowner Pam Purbaugh said.
