A brisk, fall, Moosday. (Or Tunday.)

Good day all.

Don't you hate the first day back after a long weekend?

It changed seasons here over the weekend.  On Saturday, it was 3 o clock on a July afternoon all day.  Yesterday morning, I think I woke up in October.  It is currently 45 degrees cooler than it was Saturday by noon.  Don't get me wrong, right now the cooler weather is nice, but it is a bit of a shock to the system.

Good morning yawn  The short weeks are always the longest.

Walking out onto to porch Sunday night felt like someone flipped the switch from summer to fall.  Our high today was our low last week.

Well, Mr. Ds now has seven stents -- 2 ten years ago; 3 two years ago; 2 friday.  The upside is that the 5 previous are still in good shape.  A scary little incident happened in pre-op while they were preping him for the heart cath.  I wasn't there for this, but the nurses said that as they inserted the IV, he said, "I think that one is dull," then he passed out and flat lined.  Mr. DS said when he came to, there were about four faces in his, and one of the nurses kneeling up on the bed beside him punching him in the chest.

I asked the nurse if he mentioned that he doesn't like needles.  I mean he REALLY doesn't like needles.  I'm pretty sure that he took being scared to death of needles to the literal.  no

Howdy.

I just got home from the dentist. One root canal mostly complete. It took about an hour. It was not bad at all really. I'm still numb now, so we'll see how I feel when that goes out, but the main procedure was not bad. Honestly, the smell while digging the bad stuff out was worse than any pain or discomfort. Anyway, he said he packed it with cotton and did a temporary fill. We'll leave it alone a couple days to see what it does. If the infection doesn't take off again, I'll go back for the permanent filling to finish it up.

The kite fly was overall good. Saturday started cold, wet, and too much wind. Saturday ended nice, sunny and still too much wind. Sunday was nice. The boy and I had a good afternoon on Sunday. We flew until a little after 7:00pm.

Did you guys do anything fun this weekend?

Web, did you take any shots with your kite camera? Those are always so cool. Is there any video this year? (We're a demanding crowd, aren't we? [or at least I am])

Friday evening, I had my weekly date with Captain Jack Harkness. This Friday will be our last date for a while. I'm sad. (For anyone that's lost, I'm talking about watching Torchwood, and this Friday will be the season finale.)

Saturday morning, I went for my walk, stopped at Farmer's Market, and got some breakfast at the co-op. Then I came in and worked for a while. Saturday night, I watched a movie called Rubber. I highly recommend it.

Sunday, we went to the arts fair downtown. Sunday evening, we went up to Indy to visit with family while they were in town.

Yesterday, I took it easy. I made some chocolates and a roast.

Yeah, the nurses were still a bit shook up afterwards. And they made sure it was documented in his chart that he doesn't like needles.
My stomach still does a little flip when I think about the "what if"...

My weekend was spent playing Nurse DS...

Good day, all! It is a beautiful day here in KC. Yes, it is a lot cooler... but that's not such a bad thing. I turned off the AC yesterday and opened up the house to air out.

It was a great weekend! Had the house to myself so I got a lot of stuff done around there. Went to Irish Fest in downtown KC with my ex sister in law and the BFF... great time had by all. Just kinda didn't do a whole lot on Monday except grill some steaks. It was wonderful!

And I would have posted this a half hour ago, but we just had an office fire drill. YAY!

Hope everybody is having a great day.

I didn't take any from the kite camera. I was getting my rig out and I noticed it was broken. Something must have gotten thrown on top of it on the shelf or something. I didn't have time to do repairs so the rig was out of commission.

I didn't take any video myself. While we were flying our "Rev 2's" side-by-side, I noticed a guy watching us and taking pics with the exact same camera that I have. I asked him to take a few pics for me and he did some video too:

He concentrated on us rather than the kites, so you can't really tell what we're doing. Here's a still from what we were flying:

They are quad-line "Revolution" kites. They are very fast, very precise, and very fun. They can fly in any direction, stop, hover, back up, etc. When we get together as a group like this, we have a blast.

The gallery of pics I took is HERE

Morning all. We have had more rain. It was off and on yesterday and heavy at times. We had more heavy stuff overnight and today will be a wash out. It has been raining for some time. The creek near home is up. We'll see how much more it can take before it starts throwing it into the park again.

I guess I didn't do too much over the weekend. There was the usual holiday weekend type stuff - baking, cooking, cleaning, eating. I did some yardwork. Mowed Saturday before the rain arrived Saturday night.

I am glad Mr DS is all good to go now.

One thing that I like about the cooler weather is that the air conditioning is off. It's 66 degrees outside and I'm not freezing my fingers off. If it were 96, I'd have my heater on!
