R.I.P. Green Bay Packers 2005

There it is. A 56 yard field goal by Edinger and the Pack loses to our hated rival the Minnesota Vikings.

Now we go on a five game stretch where a 1-4 record would be an accomplishment! We play the Steelers, the Bengals and the Falcons among other good teams in the next five weeks, most of it on the road.

I have tried to hold out hope they would prove me wrong and that this team could compete, but this loss proves we are a worthless team with the exception of Favre and a few others.

I'm hoping we go 2-14 or 3-13 now and just get good draft position. Winning games at this point only hurts our future.

Dance on! Dance on!

I'm a practical man. I don't beleive we play for pride, I beleive we play to win.

Like I said, the BEST thing this team can do is continue to lose and put themselves in a better position for next season.

There's enough here that if Favre returns, and we add some players, we could still be the best in a very mediocre division next season.

This is no fun--I wanted the packers to do well so I could get in some good natured ribbing. Alas, they have proved once again that the pack will never be back.  LOL  Wait until next season?

It is amazing though that a team can be 1-5 and only be 2 games out of first.

I was wondering if the Packers will suck it up and just lose the rest of the season so that they get the #1 draft pick in the spring. Matt Leinhart (USC quaterback) to Green Bay. Anyone?

Well, I am not conceeding this season yet.

But if this is the season we dip below .500, we have not had a losing season since 1991.

The Green Bay Packers are a team that has a proud tradition. The way the NFL is structured, parity is the framework for the league. We have great management, a good coach...we will be back.

Dont count Favre out yet. He is playing very well...carrying the team. His receivers he has left after all the injuries might not make it in the Arena League and he is still passing for 300 yards a game.

I agree with Dylan on Favre. He has been impressive this year. He's second in the league in touchdowns.

I 100% disagree with Dylan on Sherman though. His time is up. Move him on out. Too conservative. I put Sundays loss squarely on his shoulders.

We give him the credit when they do well, he has to take the blame when they do poorly. This team thought it could sit on a 17-0 halftime lead and Sherman went into safe-mode. It was disgusting.

I do agree that Farve is still a good quarterback, so why not bring the top draft pick in to work with him?

Fuzzy:  why would the packers do anything that makes sense.  Take action to create a winning team?

As long as you have Detroit and Chicago on tour schedule twice you have a 50-50

shot at the division title .To insure it , play Clevland .
