I've switched over to cable internet at home. Right now, all I have plugged into it is the Xbox. I never thought I really needed that kind of speed for the things we do, but man, watching Netflix without the buffering and drops is nice. Now I just need to pick up a wireless router for it and tell AT&T to kiss my booty (I'm not looking forward to that call).
I REALLY was. I was chomping at the bit for TWENTY NINE YEARS to post that!
Wow MZ, I can't believe you even bothered with Netflix if you had buffering and drops. That would drive me insane. I hate the high price of broadband, but I don't know if I could live without it anymore.
It's a little easier now that Marquette lets me take it right off my paycheck. At least I don't have to write that check every month.

JR - they are only YOUR Brewers. No one else will admit to supporting them.
Let's go Phillies! Oh yeah, and I need Houston to beat up on the Cardinals.
Morning all. I think I may be getting a cold. I don't know where it came from but things started yesterday. If it is, I hope it is just a little thing passing through.
An auditor will be here this afternoon. So will the boss.
Work on.

Yup, tiz Monday. I don't know much about that baseball stuff. The Huskers won so the sun did come up yesterday.
Saturday night is the big Huskers vs Badgers game. I expect we'll get beat, but hey, stranger things have happened. If we could have last year's defense with this year's offense, I'd think we would have a very good chance of a win.
The boy has another game tonight, hopefully that goes well.

I've got a lot of patience for things when I'm being cheap. It drove my husband insane. We had DSL, so it's not like we were using dial up or anything. We used to have it buffer maybe once for each thing we watched. But now, it's actually dropping entirely. I tried calling AT&T about it. Once, they acted like it was a line problem. Another time, the guy said he was making some adjustments, which made it better for about a week. That makes me think there's some sort of bandwidth cap or something and he expanded it until the system "fixed" it. On top of that, I'm sick of having to call every year to negotiate the price down again. I haven't called yet this year, and we're paying more than we would be paying with cable internet, so I figured why not just put that money into a better service.
FUZZY - Maybe you should go to a Phillies game, pass your cold on to the team! I won't shed any tears if all the players feel like crap during the post season and lose because they're not feeling well.
SCOTT - It's gonna be EPIC! Finally a showdown between the Great State of Wisconsin and, well, you know, Nebraska.
MZ - I hate that annual price rate dance too. I've done it with the cable company, I still do it with the local paper. I get tired of always having to threaten to cancel just to get a good price. Actually, one of the main reasons I don't have cable anymore is that they stopped offering the better price to anyone but their new customers.
They'd still give it to me if I just left for a few weeks and then came back in the past, but now they won't do that anymore because I have my internet through them so technically I'm still a customer.
So for almost two years they've lost about $50 a month in revenue they COULD have had just because they WANTED to get $70. The best part is, I've learned I can get by JUST FINE without cable.
