I went to a screenwriting lecture last night. So now I'm trying to sacrifice even more of my free time! The lecture was given by the Indiana Filmmakers Network (apparently Bloomington's starting to come on the national scene with independent films, particularly 3D). There was a lady there starting up a Bloomington Screenwriters Club.
I should step back and give backstory. NaNoWriMo, the novel thing I do every November, also has ScriptFrenzy. It's the same thing, except to write a script every April. I've decided I'm giving it a shot this April. My friend Carl participated in it, and won, last year. The ML (leader, basically) for Indiana for that lives in the next county over. Carl wasn't all that impressed with her and said she started her script, got 3 pages in, and never finished.
Well, this is the same lady that's starting up the Screenwriters Club. I really hope she's not just someone who starts things but never follows through, because if I get involved with this, I could see myself ending up leading it if she drops out, since it's basically what I already do for NaNo, just with scripts.
