I know about the boy and his role model- but I am hoping he isn't so stupid to align with him! He actually is mad at him now! He says he just likes the Eagles. How do you stop a kid from liking someone? I try to explain what I do not like about them, but that is all I can do. Heck I liked Ozzy as a kid and my dad screamed in horror when he bit the head of bat off! But I turned out just fine
1 way is to pretend you like them too ! if you like em , the kids wont lol , the other is to have the kids in same room as you an another adult when your discussing it :

ACKNOWLEDGE the good then show the kids where improvement is needed , turn these 'idols' back into people without the kids realiseing what your doing .
its kinda like playing chess , a queen is stronger than a pawn , but she still needs to be more than 1 move ahead to take advantage of her power. know what their going to say (or do ) , what your comeback is , their reaction to that comeback and you're reply to that.
heres a 'sport-way' to deal with kids (or anyone else I guess) : you're a boxer , you're opponent is a known counterpuncher. How do you beat him ? simple . feign him into leading , keep your hands down a fuzz , show a little opening , then when he tries to lead YOU become the counterpuncher and take em out in the 3rd round.
