Just Tuesday

Good day all.

I've got nothing interesting to add, so instead, how about a moist owlet:

That's funny.

It was a chilly 15 degrees this morning. We're up to 21 now. Yay!

I think it is approaching soda time. Just a little longer.

  That was cute, Mz.

Been busy at work so I haven't been able to join in the fun with y'all.   This is the time of year we get ready for the after Christmas maintenance jobs at several plants.  Most jobs only last about a week or two, but they all happen at the same time; that means a lot of paper for me hmm

Brrrrr, Web!  I thought our measly 29 this morning was chilly!  I would really like to skip winter.  That ok with everyone?  Great, let's all meet up here:

I guess that is the cold weather that is headed my way. We've been in the 60s for the past few days. Of course it is rainy today. But the warmer temps have been nice.

Yeah, watch out Fuzzy. I saw it was snowing in Memphis last night, and the swirl was heading northeast :(

Mr. DS and I ordered one of those infrared heaters. Any of y'all use one? Supposedly they're supposed to work real well at keeping the heat at a more even temperature and helping the furnace not to kick on so much.

Watch out Fuzzy, I think you're in line to get what we're getting right now.

This morning it was cold and rainy. Now it's colder and sn*wing, the really wet, dense stuff. The roads are getting slick.

My dad got one of those and only used it a couple months. It pushed their bill up so much that he figured he could add more heat for less money with propane. They are on rural power which is considerbly more expensive than our city owned municipal power.

I checked into it last winter to see how they claim the kinds of savings they claim. They say the key is to turn your thermostat down, then just heat the main room you're in with the infrared heater. That works fine unless you like your house warm throughout. I think that was the issue with my dad, he didn't turn the thermostat down, he just turned the heater on in the utility room.

As far as the infrared part, it is no more efficient than any other electric heater, it is just safer since you're heating with a sealed infrared lamp rather than old element style.

I just got off the phone with the boss (another nice long conversation - 3 hours) and he said it was snowing.

Oh wow... hmm  I told Mr. DS that I was skeptical, but he said he wanted to try it out.  Our house is not very big about 1400 sf and is pretty open except the bedrooms.  Jacobs bedroom is the hot and cold spot in the house, so I'm really skeptical that if we turn down the thermostat that and centralize the unit between the kitchen & living room,  that his room will be even more cold.  The thermostat for our CHA is in the living room.  I'm just not seeing how it's going to work out
