We have one local radio station that went to the all Christmas format this past weekend. I swear it seems to get earlier every year. And I will not listen to the station. Actually, I curse them every time I flip by it and hear a song. Way to kill the holiday mood. I could see doing it once Thanksgiving arrives, but early November, please!

why not just start it like maybe a week before christmas, kill it new years day. Highly concentrate the joy instead of prolonging the pain?

I love Christmas and listen to a nice mix all year long--ok, not so much in the summer, but I had the opportunity to purchase quite a mix and quite enjoy it.

I love Christmas music. But I agree it is a bit early. But a couple more weeks and I'll be all for the seasonal tunes. I like to find the old stuff 40's and 50's. I have made my family a Chirstmas CD for the past couple of years. I try to find different songs, some obscure stuff and versions that I haven't heard before.. I'll have to go to the library some time in the next week. I find some good tunes there plus scoure used CD stores. It's kind of a hobby i guess. Once I find the right mix I'll burn em, make my own cover and usually pass them out at Thanksgiving.

That is a great tradition Ray! I like the music- but too early. Thanksgiving weekend maybe, but waiting for the 12 days of Christmas is more like it!

I can appreciate that. When we go shopping in Nashville, Indiana there is a year-round Christmas store. I don't care if it's June, July or August. I always go in. I just like the mood it puts me in. I really enjoy the season. I remember as a kid my grandparents would come from Missouri and stay with us or my aunt for the holidays. That was always the best. It was just a good time. It always made me feel safe and secure. Like being curled up iin a big blanket laying on the floor in front of the fireplace on a cold snowy day.

I agree that is what is so great about Xmas, kinda like 80s music. It takes you back. I guess we should feel blessed if we have good memories like that!

Yeah. I always seem to feel closer to those friends and relatives I've lost. Remember the good times and toast to the memories. I enjoy sitting alone with only the Christmas lights on listening to Christmas music and drinking a glass of Merlot.
