No, actually a big hug.  I LOOOOOVE Survivor with the Jimi Jameson line-up.  I own worn-out vinyl copies of "Vital Signs" and "When Seconds Count".  (Luckily "Too Hot To Sleep" first came out on CD...)  It's a beautiful song, and it just makes me melt.  Good call, whoever you are...

I wish more people would add their name so I can see who is requesting what.  I don't see a lot of that going on...

I know we have a TON of requesters who aren't forum members. Bet it was one of these folks.

Wow, I'm starting to wonder if you and I were seperated at birth LS!

Couldn't agree more on Survivor, and as much as I was floored by the fact you like Patty Smyth as much as I do I REALLY can't beleive you appreciate Jim Steinman AND Pandora's Box too!!!!!

The thing with the requests is, it seems that for the most part only forum members utilize the dedication part of the request system, other listeners just zip in, request their music and zip out.

My pleasure.  I would like to see more names up there, to get a feel for everyone's tastes.

Riggs:  Have you ever checked out Jim Peterik's post-Survivor stuff, such as World Stage or Pride of Lions?  Good stuff.  Man, that guy can write!

You know, I DO have one of his post-survivor CD's and thought it was pretty darn good.

Just yesterday I was driving around and listening to some of the "non-hit" stuff off of Vital Signs and When Seconds Count and thinking how so much of it COULD have been a hit if they had wanted to mine the album deeper (the record company that is).

In particular, I was thinking about MAN AGAINST THE WORLD and saying to myself "this song has all the earmarks of an 80's hit, why didn't they push it?"

The nice thing is that those songs kind of become your own personal little hits. Personally I like everything on VITAL SIGNS & WHEN SECONDS COUNT, I also thought that even though REO did well with WHEELS ARE TURNIN' they could have done even better. That's another CD that is excellent from start to finish.

Did you ever see the video for "Man Against the World" featuring Frankie Sullivan running in a race?  It was such a great video, and I think MTV showed it all of 2 or 3 times.  That's an amazing song.

I also love the "Wheels Are Turnin" album.

Have you ever seen REO or Survivor live?

I didn't even know they made a video!

The song only went to #86 on the charts, I always assumed it wasn't backed up with a video!

I've never seen either live, but REO is at the Wisconsin State Fair practically every year, so I still have a chance.

I didn't go to many concerts in the 80's because I didn't have much money The only concerts I saw in the 80's were Huey Lewis & The News and Bryan Adams.

I've seen REO 6 times.  They still put on a great show, although I really miss Gary and his wonderful unique guitar sound.  It's just not the same without him.

Only saw Survivor once - on the "When Seconds Count" tour.  I had tickets for a local show on the "Too Hot To Sleep" tour, but that's when they had the falling out, and the show was canceled.  Still makes me sad...

Wow! Six times.

The only three artists I've seen multiple times have been Huey Lewis (twice), Tim McGraw (thrice) and Meat Loaf (four times).

I have a standing policy on Loaf. If he comes within 150 miles of my home I will go see him and I WILL PAY ANY AMOUNT to sit in the first two rows. God bless ticket brokers!

I have never seen anyone put more of their heart and soul into their singing than the loafster. That guy is AMAZING!

Of course, I must admit I always try to get seats on to the right of the stage so I can be up close to Patti Russo She's MUCH more fun to look at that Loaf.

Wow- really?   I see all of my favorite artists as many times as I can.  For example, I’ve seen Zebra 53 times, and that isn’t counting any of their solo shows!

Tonight is Metal Mania Stripped show featuring Don Dokken, Jani Lane (if he shows - I hear he's having problems), Firehouse, & Kip Winger.  Tomorrow night, Matraca Berg; my favorite female songwriter and absolute goddess.

Saw Huey Lewis & The News only once in 1987, and they were great.

Not a big fan of Tim McGraw, but my Mom is & said he puts on a good show.

Meat Loaf – I’ve seen 5 times.  Of course, the one I was out of town for is the one where JIM STEINMAN joined him on stage and played piano!  AHHH!  Yes, he is a great performer, although his voice has been pooping out these last few years.  Haven't seen him since Patti joined his band, though.

HOLY CRAP! YOU'RE PROBABLY AT A CONCERT RIGHT NOW AREN'T YOU!!!!?!?!!!!!!

If you're seeing THAT many concerts you should be getting paid for it! Maybe you could write reviews for Rolling Stone or something.

It's funny you say that.  We just found an old friend who has a website which reviews metal / hard rock CDs and shows, and he's asked us to contribute reviews and photos.  Yngwie Malmsteen will be my first.  I'm pretty excited about it, as I am a picture FREAK and always take tons at shows anyway.

Hey, if you give us the web address we can link to it. I'm sure everyone would be interested in reading your reviews.

Now I'm all jacked up about getting some new concert DVD's to watch, so I'm on DeepDiscountDVD.com (where by the way you can get an additional 20% off this weekend with the code SUPERSALE) and I'm buying some Bon Jovi, and Van Halen, and REO, but I'm being reminded that there is NOTHING FROM THE 80'S AVAILABLE ON DVD

COME ON! They HAVE TO HAVE recorded some of those concerts! Let's remaster em' and get em' on DVD!

Can you imagine how much fun it would be to watch Survivor circa 1986? Or Van Halen back with David Lee Roth! Or a young Cyndi Lauper!?!?!?!

PLEASE TELL ME these will EVENTUALLY be released. PLEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAASE!
