I'm in a weird mood today.  I can't quite describe it.

Hope you have a shorter, easier day today Fuzzy!

Morning all. I am grumpy, tired, a bit angry and wish people would stop bothering me today.

Howdy.

I just got a text from my wife: "I've just been fired"

That's all I know at this point.

Hopefully, in the end this will be a blessing in disguise. Or, it will make things worse. We shall see . . .

I just asked if it is effective immediately, and she said yes.

Wow, Web.

Well, I guess that helps with the other decision. Hopefully this will be a good thing and you guys don't get too stressed during the transition period.

Good day, all. Yet another day in "paradise" for me. Presently eating lunch and awaiting the onslaught of afternoon meeting. The kick off to that will be our first meeting with our new version of Jeff. New Jeff's name is Rob. I hate these meetings... I can feel it now. This is going to be the "let's go around the room and introduce ourselves!". Fan-frigging-tastic... I get to introduce myself to a room full of people I've known for at least 10 years, in some cases longer. One of my new team-mates literally kept me from falling out of my chair (I was overserved!) while I was taking my college business stats final back in college. I'm fairly certain introductions are not necessary.

Anyhoo... MOO!

No bueno! I hope Mrs. Web is able to find something better, and quickly.

I asked her if she wanted me to come help her pack or stay away. She said stay away because they were meeting soon.

The branch president, Jeff, and the #2 guy were under contract to give 30 days notice.

They both gave their notice and #2 guy was told he could go right then, and they let him out of his contract. They told Jeff he needed to finish his 30 day contract to finish up any loose ends with outstanding loans he may have in the works. He is still there, but he just told my wife that if they are doing this to her, screw the contract, he is walking out today too.

The coworker that my wife likes (one of the three), applied at three different places yesterday just to get the ball rolling, just in case this fell apart. She told my wife that she couldn't continue to work there alone with the other two. If she follows through, and quits now too, that will only leave the two B's. One of them is a total etch. That leaves one gal (a teller) as the only person who has the slightest clue about the place.

The only decent one that is left, is 60 years old, not in the best of health, and is tired. I can't see her wanting to take on all this responsibility with only the etch to rely on. It will be interesting to see what she does if it comes down to just the two of them remaining.

Wow.

Sounds a bit like that bank branch will abruptly close. Really sucks for the customers.

And that is very possible, and I'm not sure the bank will care.

The new building is being paid for by the renters in the other half of it. They can close the bank and let the renters continue. They would just need someone to manage the building for them. They could eventually find someone to rent the bank side of it. So, they are not worried about the building investment.

Their number one product here is agriculture loans. With ag loans, you tend to develop a close working relationship with your loan officer. Many of the farmers will likely follow Jeff to the new bank rather than staying here with a new guy that knows nothing about their operations, goals, and plans.

Closure could happen.

I've blazed threough 18 KY local returns so far today. Of course, those were the ones in the software program and those have help with applying profiles, I can copy and paste numbers and they total themselves. I have around 15 returns to do by hand now. I still need people to leave me alone though. Let's have something to eat. But don't get it on the papers.

Web - it does suck for Mrs. Web. Make sure they lay her off, not fire her. That way she can collect unemployment while she looks for a new job. It may solve her problem but I'm sure she'll be wanting to find something soon. Get the COBRA paperwork done immediately. That bill will suck, but it won't be nearly as much as your getting your own coverage. And it should be good for 18 months. I'm not sure if they have changed the rules. It has been years since I dealt with it. Maybe the bank figures their top two guys are gone so let's close the place. Maybe Mrs. Web is just the first to go.

I also think I have a headache.

Tax return on.

I feel like I stepped into Mz's work world. Since I was busy with returns I ignored my email. I finally get into it and there is an email from a guy in GA working on a national account that needs to know about sales tax rates. He emails three people, one tells him (and copies me on the email) that he needs me. As if I have time for that. Then there is an email from this guy asking me. Then I get a voicemail, followed by an immediate email that says I left you a voicemail, call me. So I make him wait another hour because I need to teach these people who wait until the last minute to complete this stuff on a bid not to wait until the last minute. I call him only to find out that he spoke to the pricing group and got his answers. He didn't think about them until much later. At least he apologized for being pushy. The pricing group should have been the first option for him since they do bids and all thework that goes with them all day long.

So you left me an email about the voicemail you left me about an email. I think Mz gets these all the time.

We did the COBRA thing for one month during the last transition and it was WAY expensive. I got the insurance application here to fill out.

They offered her a job as a kind of internal auditer. She was actually thinking that could be a good thing, then they told her she would need to drive 40 miles every day to another branch. They had said it would be mostly all done over email and phone. She told them it was stupid to have to drive 40 miles when there is an empty office right here at home. They said that she could do the drive or pack her things. She packed up.

The coworker she likes DID also give her two weeks notice. Jeff DID pack up and leave as well.

In two weeks, it will just be the etch and the bitch left.

I wonder if they have thoughts of closing the branch and where actually offering my wife the chance to be the only one they kept out of the whole bunch.

I dunno.

That could well have been the case. Kinda dumb to require her to drive in every day if it is not a meeting with people every day deal.
