According to Vicks FAQ NyQuil and DayQuil no longer contain a decongestant.
"What's the difference between the old and new versions of NyQuil? The old version of NyQuil contained the nasal decongestant pseudoephedrine. The new version does not contain a nasal decongestant."
Anything with pseudoephedrine has to be kept behind the counter now so it looks like Vicks has made a marketing decision over the effectiveness of the product.
no, i hate them both. they make me insane. a good alternative is Muconex. it works. but makes your sinuses dry. but i'd really rather just have a cold than the side affects the medicines give you. rubitussin and benedryll are ok though. they just make you sleep so peacefully
