Freeze Frame Needs YOUR help

Can I ask our faithful listeners and forum members here to please tell someone whom they think might enjoy the station about the station? And if they like it, ask that they tell someone about it? And so on and on?

Our numbers just SUCK lately. Neither Riggs or I can figure out why. This signal is good, we have very few drops anymore, and yet we are only getting 1/3 of the listeners we did this past summer.

Riggs and I have both been on broadcasting hiatus, which might have a LITTLE BIT to do with the drop in numbers, but being the Internet's FREE jukebox, I am shocked that we are not more popular.

Our advertising budget, not that it was ever that big, is a big old goose-egg right now. So I ask please this grass-roots effort from our listeners!

I'll be happy to do what I can.

Believe me that I fully understand why you guys have not been on live lately. Given that, and speaking only for myself, I think an occasional live voice makes a bigger impact than what you are giving credit to.

Thanks guys.

I know what you mean, Web. That is one of the biggest things I miss about the broadcast jazz station here in milwaukee. I live literally a parking lot away from the place, and it was always nice to tune in and know the dj was there listening/ discovering/ re-discovering the music along with me. It was a shared experience.

My brother and I answered phones for their fund drives a couple of times, and got to know the people behind the voices. A very very nice bunch of fun folks. Well it was cheaper fire these folks and broadcast syndicated programming; but these loops have anything but a human touch behind them. Its like robot programming; its just not the same.

Count me in too!

I think after the Holidays it will bounce back up, If you notice the Christmas stations on 365, most of them are packed full every day. I had to have Christmas music going in one of our lounge areas last night and tried to find one on 365.

I agree with Sparky JD. I think after the Holidays that things will pick back up. I am here as much as possible and I am sure I can get a few more people here.

Thanks Sparky, I appreciate it.

I knew there would be a BIT of a drop off for the Christmas song listeners, but it was completely the opposite last year!

Last year during the summer, I almost handed in my resignation. The numbers just didn't justify me keeping my show going (i.e. I'd rather just go hang out with Riggs and grill out/ have some beers without having to man the mic....) & over-all for the station the numbers bit monkey-hinder too.

we thought well "its summer, people go on vacation in droves, they'll be back in September",and they were, and we kept on growing through winter.

This year the complete opposite has happened! Huge in summer, dying in winter!! Doggone our projections, graphs, estimates!! We needs the help!

I think you guys are right, thump. It seems folks are really getting into the christmas season this year, which is good. I like the mix we offer here- sure there are christmas songs, but we are an escape from that as well- I can totally picture the success of all christmas song stations tho too, especially during the evening hours "HEY LOOK KIDS THE COMPUTER PLAYS OUR CHRISTMAS SONGS NOW" novelty aspect of the pure internet radio listening amature....

You know, Freeze Frame Merchandise makes great Christmas gifts, and it'll raise awareness about the station...

The good thing about Riggs being on the air was reminding people about the request system.

Maybe you could do a self promotional commerical to let new listeners know. The requests really seem to be lacking lately during the day. There for awhile there were hours to wait before your requests come up.

Alas, bandwidth issues stop many from listening. Damn the man!

At this point, I'm afraid he's speaking to the die-hards who already know about the request system- not enough new ears in here!

I was also just at the live365 site and it seemed they had a MAJOR crash- at the same time the music cut-out on the station, their web page  became unaccessable. I wonder if live365's crashes have cost a lot of other stations listeners as well?

Yeah, but it is strange to me that sometimes there are 50 listeners and no requests lined up?

that is strange. I know more people tune in than actually ever visit the freeze frame site..its just weird, these listening peaks and valleys.
