Don't Pay your Bills Early!

My wife just called livid!

She paid her Sears bill early and they sent her a $29.00 late fee.

She called them and said: Let me get this straight, I give you my money early so you can draw interest on it in your account which I'm not getting in mine and you send me a late fee?

Sears - Well you didn't make it in your billing cycle....

Long story short we will now pay in the store on the last day due. They did reverse it after talking with the manager.

I'm not sure how it worked out, something to do with paying one at the beginning of November and one close to the end of November.

They must've considered it an additional payment on last month's bill instead of the payment on this one's.

I have a Sears card, and I hate their billing service. I had mine automatically deducted from my checking account. Well, a few months ago they just stopped taking it out. I didn't realize it, and now my bill has skyrocketed from late and missed payment fees!

I had an issue with Sears a few years ago and I closed my account. Screw them. It was after they went to the Sears card with the Mastercard logo. I told them I didn't want it that way. And their billing does suck. I had the same problem as Sparky. The gave me a late fee. I gave them an earful of crap and then was done with them.

Yeah, I plan to pay mine off and cancel it (but now I have all these late fees to pay off too!). I never shop at Sears anymore anyway. It seems like any clothes or shoes I get there fall apart much faster than anything I get from a discount store.

I agree Molly. Their stuff just isn't what it was so many years ago. I only go in for tools or related hardware.
