It's just one particular kind of double decker -- known as The Routemaster.

That is the double decker traditionally seen on the streets of London currently and especially on old British films. it's the type where you hop on and off at the back.

We still have plenty of more modern double deckers. my Mark has actually driven a Routemaster as well as others - he used to be a bus driver and spent some time with London Transport. He knows all sorts about buses! But he's in bed with ManFlu. My late dad also used to be a bus driver funnily enough.

Several Routemasters were sold off several years ago, We have at least one here in Blackpool doing the open top touristy thing in the summer.
