Sheesh, what a morning. Had to do lots of running around. As I was getting back to the shop, there was lots of smoke in the air and I heard the fire trucks running. Since I'm a mile from city limits, I thought it must be close so I went to see who was burning. Turns out it was way down in the middle of town but pumping out A LOT of smoke. As I got closer, it looked like it was coming from what could be my grandmother's house. When I got close enough to see, there is only one house between her's and this one that is totally engulfed in flames.
I know the people that live in that house and they have two kids but they are both old enough to be in school so hopefully no one was hurt.
Oh, and I'm tired . . . The house across the street and one door down is a rental. One of the guys that lives there leaves really early in the morning for work. This morning, he got his car stuck in the snow ridge by his driveway.
So, at 4:30am, he and his buddy are out there trying to dig this car out, cussing, yelling at each other, etc. After a while of that, they gave up and got the other guy's Jeep with no muffler involved. It looks like they were trying to get the Jeep around and in front of the car and they got it stuck on the other side.
So now, we have a Jeep with no muffler at 5:00am trying to get out of a snow bank. I guess they thought if they'd just spin the wheels faster, they will suddenly get some dry ground to grab on to. Didn't happen.
They tried to make as much noise as possible for over an hour before giving up. This morning, I see both vehicles are still stuck in the driveway. This all took place about 15 feet from a house with a 4 mo. old baby inside. I'm sure they are REALLY happy this morning.
