Photo's of my father...

I've been telling you all about my Dad and his cancer for over a year now. As I'm sitting here looking through photo's to prepare some displays for the viewing I thought I could post a few so you can put a face with the name.

The first, is my father as a child, with his sister Diane...

This is my father in his military uniform...

A wedding photo with my Mom (of course)...

A 70's family, Dad in his white suit with the big collar, Mom with the big hair and me in too much polyester...

My Dad, with my sister (she's 23 now)...

My father and I at my graduation in 1986 (yes, I'm actually including myself, because it's an OLD photo!)...

Finally, my favorite photo of my Dad. He always liked to wear goofy hats. For the past few years he wore this weird, Andy Capp style black hat that hasn't been popular in 30 years, but he pulled it off. In this photo he was wearing a big pull-down hat that my mom and just bought him. This is the smile I will always remember....

Yeah JD, I definately have a little of each in me, although I've always seemed to have more of my Mom's side of the family in me.

Hey, by the way man, I haven't seen you in nearly a month! Be sure to have a Merry Christmas! Next year we'll get this thing back up and running strong again!

Oh Spark, that's NOTHING,

I was gonna go, but first I'll have to see if I can find my Mom with her Fem-Bot doo If I can I'll post it in this thread asap.

I keep looking for Austin Powers or Dr. Evil in the background

I am reminded of an old saying ;  Women love a man in uniform .

It is easy to see why .

Alright, LAST of the photo's, I SWEAR!

First, My Mom & Dad walking me through the kitchen as a baby. I'm sure the hair-do on my Mom is a wig, but still, hard to beleive that was once a popular style, and I still say she looks like a fem-bot

Another shot of my mom, this one more of a front view...

I do have a better picture of her, that REALLY looks like something from Austin Powers, but I can't seem to find it right now.

Finally, I threw in another photo of me, because I guess like Sparky said it can help you guys feel like you know me better. This one is about ten years old, and about the last time I allowed myself to be photographed other than against my will!

Now I'm way too out of shape and just don't like to have my picture taken, but that will be changing, because I made a promise to my father to take care of Erica and my Mom, and to do that I have to get healthier. . I'm also not crazy about public posting, but I guess in my current state of sadness I'm softening on that a bit...

Holy Cow Ruby!

You just reminded me!

YES! AQUA NET! CANS AND CANS OF AQUA NET!

I remember as a kid the bathroom would have a haze in it when my Mom was done "doing" her hair. Every single day, at least 90 minutes just preparing her hair. Crazy!

Web, I was just beginning my transition to Penguin back in the mid 90's, the flippers were there but they were really small and my arms hadn't fallen off yet, so you probably wouldn't have seen them anyway.

Yes Ruby, in the early and mid-90's I was a huge White Sox fan

Robin Ventura, a rookie named Frank Thomas, I even had one of those balfour team rings for the Sox.

Eventually I came out of the coma and stopped wearing anything that comes from the south side of ANYWHERE.

JD, that was a singing telegram that Terri had sent to me at work for my birthday that year. I beleive it was 1994 or 1995. It could even be 1996. I remember it was near the end of my time at IPS because that jacket was a gift from one of my employees up in marketing services when I was a supervisor.

Hey JD, yes, the jacket was a mistake, but dating the monkey was definately NOT! Those gorillas got some MOVES! And it was a big catch for a lowly Penguin!

Just because of the hair-do talk, I hope it's ok that I add a photo to your thread JR.

This is my mom from 1972. Big hair and bold colors were "in".

WOW!

Absolutely it's ok to add to the thread Web!

Now THAT'S a doo! I can just envision those huge curlers in your Mom's hair, probably overnight so that she could get that look in the morning!

Can you imagine if a woman tried to wear her hair like that today?

Don't you just figure they HAD to be bumping their hair on the top of the car, or batting it against the overhead portion of a doorway
