My boss called me in his office before I could get my coat off. He told me he was pulling me out of the project department. I thought that was bad news until he told me he was going to promote me to outside sales.
It's a position I have wanted to do for the last 7-8 years. It's going to be a new challenge and a new direction for me. I'm very excited and quite shocked it happened. It's a chance for me to make whatever kind of money I can make. Basically the sky's the limit!
I'll be working with my replacement for the next 3-4 weeks then it's out of the nest. I'll be on a 6 month leash then evaluated at that time. I get a car allowance, expense account and cell phone allowance. So the pressure is on.
The bad news is without a mobile FFR I'll be here less and less over the next few weeks, maybe months. Once I get myself established I should be back more often. However, I'll pop in when I can to hang out with my FFR buddies.
Now my task is to get my desk in order to hand over to my replacement. I think she starts this week. I'll be listening but not posting much.
