What's your morning routine?

Ruby's post made me think of this. What time do you get up in the morning? What's your routine?

My husband wakes me up at about 5:30 every morning, I somehow keep my eyes open enough to braid his hair (he has long hair, and works at a factory, so braiding it keeps it out of his way and out of the way of any of the machines), and drive him to work, then I get back home and curl up with a cat and go back to sleep. Then my alarm goes off at 6:51, and I hit the snooze button (which happens to be 9 minutes long). Then I get up at 7, take a shower, put on makeup, get dressed, pet the cat, and go to work. I usually eat breakfast at my desk at work.

I've tried to get up early and exercise or eat breakfast, but I just can't do it. I have a hard time getting up when it's dark out or if it's cold outside my covers, so winter is rough. But in summer, I'm often awake before my alarm goes off. I'm usually cranky at 5:30, but not as much at 7, and I don't always have coffee. If I didn't have someone else's schedule to adhere to, I'd probably stay up till midnight and wake up at about 8.

What I posted is my normal routine- I also have to get little E ready when I get out of the shower. I eat a banana before I work out for the energy and then my yogurt when I get here!

I am so not a morning person. My morning routine is filled with laziness and doesn't consist of much. I try to start my day at 6:20. You know that doesn't work. I hit the alarm a few times and am usually out of bed by 7am. Some days it depends on how moody I am, especially if I worked late the day before that I may roll over for another half hour or so. There have been times that I have worked until 7 or 8pm, and took no lunch, so I decide to stroll in at 9am instead of 8:30am. Then I do the get all clean and dressed to go to work thing. After that I head downstairs, I finish packing my lunch and try to find something for breakfast (which I will eat after I get to work). Then it is pick up stuff and leave. Very boring and not a lot of thinking, just the way I like it.

I get up at 5:30, shave, shower, comb hair, put on monkey suit, go back into bedroom, put mirror under Allison's nose to make sure she is allright. Kiss Allison and mommy goodbye while they are sleeping. Go to computer (most days) read forum. Head off to work about 6:30 drive 12 miles and valah! Here I am.

No, but I do watch her to see if she is breathing and snoring.

I do that to my cats sometimes, if they don't move when I get up, I sit there and look for breathing. Or I just flick an ear and see if it moves. Just to make sure.

I have starred at the animals before (the cat, the dog, the fish). Sometimes you just can't tell. When I would babysit I would also keep an eye on the kids. Even though I would put them to bed some time ago, I would go up and look in on them about once an hour.

The alarm goes off at 5:30, but I don't get up until 6:30. I then have a superbly choreographed routine that is literally down to the second.  Out of the house by 7:02.  If I sleep even 30 seconds later, my whole day is shot.

Mon, Wed, and Friday, I get up about 7:00 and turn on the computer and check email. If anything urgent needs to be handled, I do that right away. If things are quiet there, I usually check out the forum and the daily news emails I get. I get the dog up and let her out. I get the boy up at 7:30 so he can watch "Clifford". At 8:00, he and I eat breakfast and I get him ready, then at 8:45 I take him to preschool and then come on to the office.

Tue, and Thurs, no school so I eat breakfast while he is watching Clifford and then about 8:00, we leave and I drop him off at daycare then come on to the office.

The alarm clock goes off at 5:30.  I turn it off while thinking, "Dang!  Do I really want to get up now?  NOPE! ZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzz".  Usually I wake back up around 6 and get out of bed.  Pet each of the 4 cats waiting outside the bedroom door so I can get down the stairs to the kitchen for caffeine.  Out the door to work somewhere between 7:30 and 8:30, depending on how long I procrastinate.

one of my resolutions was to get up early 2 mornings a week and get to the gym for an hour before work. I don't see this happening tho.....

I am not a morning person. I would love to be. The alarm is set for 8 am, I usually snooze button once. I get up, check e-mail, bank, and forum online. If I didn;t snooze button I will check out the local online paper, otherwise do that at work.

shower, shave, brush the teeth, get dressed, head out the door at 8:35. At work by 8:45. (lol when you are a rock star like me, you get to come in when you feel like it.) Some days I get there at 9.

Usually 1/2 the pot of the coffee club coffee is waiting when I get in. Pour a cup of that. sit down and begin my day, which consists of hanging out here with you folks a lot!
