SYDNEY (Reuters) - An Australian woman will face court charged with repeatedly stabbing her partner because he played an Elvis Presley song over and over again, police said Tuesday.
Police said the 30-year-old woman was charged with unlawful wounding after her 35-year-old partner was stabbed with a pair of scissors in the back, shoulder and thigh at Northam, about 62 miles east of Perth in Western Australia state on Monday.
The man, whose injuries were described as "non-life threatening," had been repeatedly playing the song "Burning Love," a police spokesman said.
The 1972 song was the U.S. rock great's 40th and last top 10 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
I had never heard it until I started watching LAS VEGAS on NBC.
I'm still ticked at the Elvis estate though, they were asking for so much money for the rights to the song that the studio couldn't afford to use them on the DVD releases so they replaced it with a pathetic song called LET IT RIDE by some other artist.
This song was PERFECT for the opening and set the entire mood of the show, on the DVD's it just feels wrong now!
But the producers said the cost per set would have gone up almost TEN BUCKS if they wanted to use the Elvis tune!
I just know that when it's all over and the show is off the air they'll reissue the DVD's with the original music, and I'll have to go and rebuy them all. Whats worse no one will want the copies I have so I'll be stuck with em both.
GRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!
Darn greedy Elvis estate. Like they don't have enough money!
