Need a prayer or some good luck wishes!

I am off to teach a career planning course- heck I need to plan my own.

I'll be back in an hour! Wish my luck! This is my first time!

Why on Friday the 13th do I have to start!

Thanks- the prayers worked- it went well! We are going to have a lot of fun this semester- mock interviews through a webcam, doing Habitat again, help with resume writing and the neatest thing a meal etiquette class! We will have a 5 course lunch and be taught how not to embarass yourself at a meal!

here's what I've found out from "power lunches"...if its any help-

order something that doesn't take a lot of effort to eat- a sandwich, a salad. spaghetti, drippy saucy things spell doom!

If you are going to order a drink, an alchohol drink, order it, and order it with conviction. Bust right through that "should we....should we not" akwardness with "I'll have a Becks". Don't mull over it, know what you want before you even get to the restaurant, don't ever have more than the one. You will be admired for your "go get em" attitude, and yet your restraint and just having the one, which will loosen you up just enough to get business done without losing your edge."

Of course, don't do this in an interview situation. Order the lemonaide with conviction instead. Plus be wary of interview lunches, or rather those who would hold them.

JD, great info, but you know where I am- we will not even bring up alcohol!

Also- the meal we will have will be like soup, salad, messy main course- maybe spaghetti even. Just to show them how to do it right! I think it will be a blast!

It is actually nice to get out of my office and have a different kind of interaction with the students. And we all know I like to talk and I am not nervous. I might love to teach at the college level, but no more school for me. At least not until little E is bigger E!

yea I hear you on the schooling. I went back after the degree to just take some business classes, but once I got the new car, that was that for the play money. I had felt that all I was learning I could have really found out on my own. The extra money could go towards retirement accounts now instead of tuition and retirement accounts later, and in the end, end up with the same $.

BUT

I think once I retire, I'd like to audit classes. I always admired the older folks in my classes. Studying for the fun of it! Heck, maybe get the real doctorate in jazz, instead of the one I bought off of the internet!

I think the same about the audit- must be nationwide huh? I had some in every class in my major. Good to keep old timer's disease away!
