I HATE WALMART AND TARGET

The Toys R Us by my house is closing. Walmart is about ten miles away, but Target is less than a block away. I am crushed- they have the best restrooms, toy selection and fun stuff on the weekends that I have been waiting for little E to turn three so she can participate!

Wal-Mart declared War on Toys R Us last December.  I am surprised that they have been hanging in there.  I am telling you Wal-Mart is not what everyone thinks it is.  I have been behind the closed doors.  They declared War on K Mart and just about Won, they did not count on Sears reoubounding with the Fix up series on TV--so Sears kicked Wal-Mart's butt last year.  But, Wal-Mart is not taking it lying down.  I am sure you have noticed a HUGE change in displays, especially in electronics--they are going after Best Buy's piece to gain some of that market share.

CP, I tell everyone that will listen about your perspective on Walmart...but big box mart has brainwashed alot of people...ITs probably all price driven , because almost every walmart I have ever been in is dirty and their help is not helpful....

I shop at Target and K mart

The Walmart here is terrific and the people are nice and helpful.

Even the Target is ok.

I do not mind the stores as much as I mind that they are killing the small businesses and now the not so small

Check for any small unique toy stores in your area. We have an educational type toy store in town. I thought it was just for teachers and such, but they carry better stuff than Toys R Us ever did...

Also, check your local craft stores like Michael's and AC Moore, maybe even JoAnn Fabrics. They usually run at least one free activity every month for the little ones.
