I was at the gym and this was on tv- although I didn't have the earplugs on for sound. (thank goodness) but how did those twins sound?


and that tan chick with the big eye makeup and mom looked pretty stuck on herself hey?

Oh she was stuck on herself JD, and the reason they brought the mom in was because Simon wanted to see if her mom approved of her over-made up look. He took one look at the mom and could see where she got it from.

Yes Thump, crazy dave getting through is just stupid. Paula and Randy just wanted to mess with cowell I think.

I thought the first twins did ok. and I did agree with Paula on the guy who sang Frankie sinatra. he sounded really good but very 1 dimensional. reminded me of John Stevens from Season 3 ( the one who always sane the rat pack and kept staying)

Yeah, he was TOTALLY playing up the girl look and then trying to act like "what? I don't get it, I'm a boy".

If it had been Dallas I would have understood. but it was Denver!  Home of the supposedly macho Denver Broncos. ( not no more)


Next week I think is on to St Louis and then Austin or Greenville.

Thump,

I'm really getting annoyed with these people that you just KNOW they know they're no good, but they don't care, they just want that TV time.

Some of the rejects legitimately thought they were good singers, and for them I always feel bad.

But the others I would prefer they not waste their time with them.

I get the feeling Simon Cowell is already at that point this year too, so maybe they'll limit how many freaks they let on.

Everyone wants to be the next William Hung if they can't be the next American Idol.

I saw these two shows on Sunday, I thought the Twins were quite good and I liked the Cowboy kid, he was cool, looked really young though, not sure how well he will cope in Hollywood though! As for Crazy Dave I'm looking forward to seeing him talk to the animals!!!

The twins apparantly have been in jail for two weeks now with little chance of getting out.

Turns out they drove to the auditions with a car they bought using a stolen identity.

only caught a few audtions this weekend, but one that stood out for me was the young blonde girl, who's dad was in prison, she sang the Clarkson song, she looked and sounded good!

I agree Ultimo. She sounded great and I also liked the one that sang Opera but I dont think she made it through.


 


did you hear that the twins are out of the show? Seems that they are out on jail but thier presense is not welcome in L A.


 


but the road may be good as they say they have been contacted by many producers that want to sign them. ( I smell a Justin Guarini thing coming on) All supposed talent and no help to get it

I watched most of one show a few nights ago.

As I sat there listening to some of these people that are SOOOO bad, I started thinking about the process to get there.

Surely, Paula, Randy, and Simon do not have to hear every applicant. There has to be a pre-screening before they waste their time. So, I'm watching this and wondering, surely these people didn't get in front of the judges with their talent . . . so how then? The only thing I can figure is that the screeners allow a certain amount of freaks through to the judges just for the TV entertainment value.

You're right Web.

Producers pre-screen who goes in front of the judges, so they're purposely letting some really bad folks through.

What's not probably getting through are the truly average singers.

I know first hand about the pre screening, cause they did one here on campus last year. They choose music teachers from our school to be the judges! But it was open to everyone in the area.


 


I do agree though that certain people must be picked cause they stink. It adds to the shows appeal! I wonder if they tell them that!

I saw a clip this past weekend of the girl who did the Dixie Chicks song, and then did a really really rare Billie Holiday cover of a vocal version of Brubek's "Take 5". Did this kid just slay the judges- it seemed that they were honored to be in her prescence.
