Hey - "Build Me Up Buttercup"

I believe this is one I'd asked to be added way back when.  Awesome!

RE: Hey - "Build Me Up Buttercup"

I always liked this song, but never quite understood what they said.

I don 't know about you, Ruby, but I have a problem with workout tapes. If I don't work otu for a little bit and I hear the song, I feel guilty. Anyone else have this problem? I burned a CD over the weekend to walk to on the treadmill (finally got it fixed and walked 3 miles each on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, man that felt good). It's a compilation of Weezer, All-American Rejects, Fall Out Boy, American Hi-Fi, The Killers and Yellow Card. It's awesome. Oh, wait! Stacy's Mom is also on there by Fountains of Wayne. Joey's mom has got it going on...oops, did I say that out loud?

I've really gotten into emo lately. The bad thing is - none of the people my age where we live like that kind of music. We were talking yesterday at the birthday party and my sister-in-law looked at me blankly when I was talking about it, but my husband's 16 year old cousin was all into it. I think I'm going in reverse here. I'm trying to convince my husband that it would be all right for me to go to Chicago to see Fall Out Boy. Unfortunately, he works as a prison guard and most of the inmates come from Chicago. Doesn't give him a very positive view of the city. If I go, I'm taking the 16 year old cousin so I don't look like an idiot and we're going prom dress shopping. I hope we get to go.

Good music is good music , no matter the age. Age is just a number! My hubby has Fall Out Boy as his ringtone. He'll be 40 in March. His 13 yr old daughter is mad that he has it because she doesn't!

I have also worked out to "Build Me Up Buttercup."  I actually ended up supplying all of the music for my local gym's exercise instructor.  She was one of two at this gym who would use real music in her classes.  (I cannot stomach techno!)  So it was really wonderful taking her classes.  When she lamented about not having time to put new music compilations together, I made her a bunch of CDs.  It was great - I got to work out to stuff I liked, and even better, introduce a lot of other people to music they wouldn't have known otherwise.  And she was happy with them, because I knew the rhythm of her classes, and what songs to put where in context of the workout.

P.S. - The mix you made sounds great for a treadmill workout.  All happy, uptempo stuff.  And don't worry about anyone who looks at you weird at the concert.  Music is music.  The older people look at me weird when I go to see someone like Neil Sedaka, and the younger people look at me weird when I go to see someone like Hanson.  Who cares?  Good music is good music!

I think Trish outta point out the obvious to her hubby ; the only way bad people go to prison is if the good people out number em. So buy that ticket and pack your bags , this case is closed .

BTW - how did that dodge ball tourney go ?  is it 2 man teams or more ? a little 411 on it if you can
