It was back in college. My best friend and I were handed passes by the roadies after the concert. All the band was back there EXCEPT for the big guy. Oh why couldn't it have been Led Zeppelin, then they ALL would have been "Big Guys!". The experience itself was definitely not "Behind the Music" worthy. It's was just the thrill of being asked. I was not a witness nor a participant to any backstage shenanigans. Mainly got signatures and asked stupid questions because I couldn't come up with anything witty or memorable.
My husband met Jimmy Page when he was 14. (When my husband was 14, that is. Not Jimmy Page!)

I held out for Eddie Van Halen for years. Now he doesn't quite seem to be the catch he was in his hey day. I think I'll stick with the man I married.
I hear really terrible things about Eddie from people 'in the know'.
So you were never able to get your hands on him back in the day, before he totally lost his mind?

Nope. The Robert Plant concert was my one brush with fame. Unless of course you count seeing the occasional country star in the grocery store or restaurant here in Nashville. I've outgrown most of my Hollywood and rock worship. I guess the only singer/star I'd walk up to today and ask for an autograph would be Dierks Bentley. He's the man! My daughters and husband just roll their eyes at my crush.

Have you ever run into my goddess, Matraca Berg in Nashville?

She is my favorite female songwriter. She has written tons of country hits, is married to Jeff Hanna from Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, and has put out some excellent country albums herself. She lives in Nashville and is just a goddess to me.

It's not that I haven't met her - I was just wondering if TN Girl had any interseting stories for me!

Oh I just meant help with letting TN see what she looked like. I do not think any of us knew what she looked like. She is real pretty.
Oh, I gotcha!
Yes, she is beautiful on the outside as well.

Ive got a story about meeting people in the music industry.....
I dont know if everyone here has heard of Godsmack or not but I totally hug out with them. My friend Cassie dacided to go to thier concert for out birthdays.(mines aug 9th and hers is aug 6th) We went to thier aug 1 show about 5 years ago, and we were the first ones at the venue, b/c the seating is first come first serve. While we were waiting I sw a sign on the door and it said "all delieveries enter at high street address" so I was like- come'on cass- were going to high street. We go to the side of the building and there were some guys playing foot ball- one guy totally overthrew and it ended up coming to me, of course i dropped it but i picked it up and threw it back to him. then we realized that it was Tommy the drummer. So we hung out talking about the show and playing pass. then tommy was like- i gotta go in for soundcheck- make sure you 2 are in the front row. so we get into the venue and the security guards tell uis to go around the barricades and stand right in front of the stage. Then they come on stage and start playing and Sully the lead singer is like- id like to introduce everyone to our new friends Cassie and Myndi- everyone say happy birthday then the whole crowd said happy birhtday.. It was way cool. then after the show we were told to go out to thier tour bus and we waited for them and they were like- wheres the nearest all night food joint? so we said dennys and they were like- get in, were going to eat- so we got on thier bus and went to dennys to eat. We got all kids of pictures and they asked for our addresses so they could send us something and a few days later we both got birthday cards. It was really cool.
Ive also met Billy dean, Lila Mccain, Gretchen Wilson and a whole bunch of country singers due to a concert here in maine every summer. And i have also met Kurt Browning and Kristi yamaguchi...The Ice skaters
