Although I don't get it very often, my favorite meal would be a nice, big prime rib dinner with mushrooms.

Favorite desert is strawberry pie.

Favorite snack is popcorn.

TG, I love salsa and tortilla chips...
if you have a world famous recipe, please share....

I guess if forced to choose, I would go with Mexican food or a good cheese sausage and onion thin crust pizza.

The perfect meal would be a chopped bleu cheese salad from Outback, crab legs from Blue Lantern in Mishawaka, IN, with some steamed broccoli and either rice pilaf or a baked potato dripping in sour cream, and warm chocolate cake with neopolitan ice cream.

Fried Jumbo Shrimp.

I LOVES THE SHRIMP!

After that a good fish fry of any kind takes second place.

Well Allright!

He can stay here as long as the fish and shrimp lasts!

I'll put a cot out in the living room.

I can't wait to hear all the Ruby stories he'll have to tell!

Thump,

I can't imagine you could POSSIBLY pick a favorite food.

You seem to love it all!

Dylan asked for my recipe for salsa.  It's so easy it's almost embarrassing.  The only unfortunate thing is I don't measure anything so it's trial and error everytime.  The MOST important item though is my Pampered Chef Chopper.  I'm sure a generic would work just as well.  It dices with out mutilating the way a blender or food processor does.

Here's basics though:

Start with four tomatoes (i peel mine first.  Once their chopped, I drain the juice off and put them in my bowl).  Then chop up one small to medium white onion, fresh cilantro (usually about 1/4 of the bunch or approximately 1/2 to 2/3 cup before being chopped), and one or two jalapenos (depending on their size and hotness).

I then am VERY liberal with the salt (I'm guessing 1 tablespoon), pepper, and last time I added some chili spice which was good.

Lastly, I add a tablespoon or so of lime juice to give it a little tang.

That's it.

Sometimes, I switch it up by adding a can of green chilis, yellow corn, and black beans.

To make my guacamole, I buy a couple of ripe avacadoes from the store, mash them up real well and then add some salsa to it.

I love a lot of food so it's hard to pick favorites. I can't ever turn down shrimp though!

Oh and my hubby's sauteed mushrooms! I'm sure I will have a whole list if I take the time to really think about it!

I love all food, too, especially my mom's german cooking. She makes the best everthing. I love her hazelnut cake. It has ground hazelnuts in it and once it is baked you melt almond bark over the top of it to seal it. It stays moist and yummy. I need to get the recipe for that, but she's like TG, she doesn't measure anything. I also love the streusel she makes. I finally know how to make that. You don't measure anything in it, either. You make a birds nest out of flour, sugar and powdered sugar, put eggs and vanilla in the middle of the nest and fleck it with butter. Then you mix it all up by hand and press it in the bottom of a pan (saving some for the top)and put a filling in it (apples like you would use for a pie or cherry pie filling) and sprinkle the mix (which is like crumbs) on top of that and bake it. It is yummy. My mom makes it with european plums (she has a tree) and it is fantastic that way, too. Chocolate is good any time. I love macadamia nut truffles.

What always hits the spot:either mashed potatoes or a good club sandwich.  When in doubt, I always eat a club sandwich and am never disappointed.

Rock Bottom Brewery has an exceptional one.

And like Jeremy, a good fish fry can never go wrong.
