Biggest jackpot in U.S. history! 360 Million Bucks

I really never play the lottery.

I guess the 169 million to 1 odds just discourage me too much.

BUT, with the jackpot up to $360 million I'm going all in this weekend. I've already bought about $50 worth of tix from 10 different stores, and by Saturday I hope to dump another $25.

WHEN I WIN on Saturday I will be hiring Webguy to head up our South Dakota base of operations. With our own webservers, giving us the ability to produce our own stream, free of Live365 and without limits on our listenership.

Next we'll be spending nearly one million on a major advertising blitz across the country to bring in the listeners from all over the world.

A special section of the website will imemdiately be password protected and only YOU, the ones that were here from the start, will have access to that part.

Then, I'll be buying a fully loaded tour bus and JD & I will begin our tour across country to meet you, our listeners.

At every stop we'll be supplying a top of the line new grill, and all the beer, brats and burgers you can possibly eat. When we leave, you'll get to keep the new grill and all the leftovers!

WOO HOO!

I can't wait for Sunday morning when I'm rich!

Keep dreaming. The whole support staff here is in on a pool.  When we win tomorrow, NO ONE's showing up on Monday. It'll be priceless.

just don't "forget" to pay your taxes like that survivor dude, because that would stink if you went to jail and ffr went off the air...

I'm sorry Somechick, this one is MINE. I'm older, I've put in more time. You can win one in about ten years.

Oh don't get me started on Taxes DG.

This whole lottery system is such a scam to begin with.

They take about 45% of sales off the top, and then they get to tax the winnings at 40% too!

It's crazy. $720 million raised, $360 awarded, $ 200 million allowed to be kept.

Hmm, that makes $520 million for Uncle Sam compared to $200 million for me.

AND I TAKE ALL THE RISK! THEY TAKE NONE!

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!

Now wait a sec JR, why do a cross country bus tour? We're talking $200,000,000 here! Look at those zeros! I'm thinking we need to be flown in for a private concert!

First of all, it is good to have a plan.

Second of all, I am afraid to inform you that I will be the winner.

Third of all, make them withhold the 35% taxes before they give you the money.

Fourth, after I win this big jackpot on Saturday, I am awaiting the arrival of the cash, giving it about three weeks at work and then I am walking out the door. I am paying the remaining co-workers in my office $50k to walk out the door with me on that day without warning. What the heck, we are all losing our jobs anyway. Then the new company will be in trouble. Screw 'em all.

Fifth, I will then support a few causes. One being the station (I have no problem endorsing JR's plan above) and the second taking care of some funding for a few small bands trying to make it. Then I will take care of some charities, including Mz'.

Sixth, there will be a FFR meet and greet and I will have everyone assemble in one place.

Seventh, then I am travelling throughout parts of Europe. Whoever else wants to come is welcome.

Eighth, of course I will take care of my friends and family.

Oh, the possiblities. No matter how much I share, I could never spend it all.

Well, considering you've included us in your plans I can't say that you won't win, but maybe we could split? Then you wouldn't have to worry about FFR at all!

I'd like to start a small record label that tries to get the best local music out there on more of a national stage. Nothing big, just a chance for smaller groups to get some notoriety.

I didn't know Pennyslvania was part of this lotto too. Geez, seems like EVERY state is part of it.

Well, I wish you and Somechick well, but as JD likes to say, "I'm gonna win!"

Molly,

I wanted to see the country, but we can do both!

We'll do the tour, then we'll rent out the Riverside theater one weekend and hire Late Night Drive to give a free concert.

We'll fly you all in and put you up in a nice hotel downtown so you can attend the concert!

Think the Wina-Freds will want to open? What about the Suspects and the OK Sisters? M.T. Handid?

We'll bring em all in and have a weekend long FFR Free Music Festival!

Okay. Since it is you, I will go for a split so long as it is only you. I don't want to seem greedy, but I don't want to split the jackpot with ten people.

Actually, I would be grateful for anything but the $200k would be nice. I couldn't share as much, but it would be good.

By the way, the top federal tax rate is only 35%, of course you will have to watch for AMT because those rules are still screwed up. PA doesn't tax lottery winnings. So I would only be paying federal.

Yeah, you know, Ray Naggin wanted to rebuild it back to being a "Chocolate" city, since you're green I thought you'd be partial to Shamrock

You know, the sad truth is your $200 million wouldn't even scratch the surface of rebuilding New Orleans. It's going to take BILLIONS.

And besides, next fall Hurricane Karl will probably flood it again. We're in a cycle that history shows lasts 5 - 10 years, I think we're making a big mistake rebuilding right now.

We should spend 3 years hauling in dirt to make the city above sea level, THEN start rebuilding

JD,

I didn't see your post about the levee walls when I made my post.

Now that's a plan that could work. $200 million to build a sturdier levee system.

You're plan doesn't sound so crazy to me now.

You're still as crazy as a loon, but the plan is doable.

I'm sorry guys, but I'm going to win it. No stealing my idea now, but I'm going to only buy 2 tickets: One with the most used numbers from the past year, and one with the least used numbers from the past year.

I'm going to set all my closest relatives up with a great extra income.

Instead of GIVING them a million in cash and having the government take yet another chunk in gift taxes, I'll set up million dollar CD accounts, and have the interest go to them every year.

At 5.5% that would be a 55,000 in added income each year (before taxes). Maybe one of each family could stay home with the kids instead of working with that type of extra cash flow.

JR - is it too late to try and make this a FFR contest? I seem to have a good track record here - 1 for 1. That would give me a leg up in winning the jackpot.

PS - I'm gonna win!
