Please say a prayer...

Hi everyone. I would really appreciate it if you all could say a prayer for my sis. She is the one that is in the AF in Germany. She became ill over the weekend and went to the doc on Monday. They told her it was just a cold, but by Tuesday she was in ICU. She has something wicked going on. They aren't sure what it is yet, they are waiting on the CDC to let them know what it is. She is intubated and has a catheter in her heart. Her breathing was above 70, so they intubated her because they were afraid her lungs were going to collapse. She just had a baby in December and they have a daughter that is almost 2. Her husband is suffering from sleep deprivation. She is really, really sick. My mom is flying out Thursday to be with her. My niece is now also sick. They put her on the priority list and are checking her out. It looks like whatever this is is viral. There is another nurse in the hospital that has a fever and they are afraid this is going to happen to her, too. So, if you all could say a prayer for everyone involved, I would appreciate it.

Trish, your sister and family will be in my prayers that she pulls through this soon.

Dear Jesus, Healer of the sick, we turn to You in this time of illness. Alleviate the worry and sorrow with Your gentle love and grant those who are ill the grace and strength to accept this burden. We humbly ask that You restore them to health again. Above all, grant us the grace to acknowledge Your holy will and know that you love us and are with us in this, my most difficult time. Amen.

Thanks all. I knew I could count on my FFR family.

No news today. I hope that means good things. One good thing is that she is a medic there. She has connections. Her commander called my parents (really, really unusual for a full bird colonel to call an enlisted persons parents) and assured my parents that the best cardiologist and pulmonary specialist in the AF are working on her and gave them his home phone number and told them to call anytime if they had questions. That is reassuring. If you have to be sick, it's always nice to have the best of the best. My dad (who was in the military) was really impressed that my sister rated so highly at her hospital.

Trish, I am sure the hardest part is not knowing what your sister is fighting...

I thought the prayer Disco Strangler was extremely poignant and will include that one with my prayers for you , your sister and your family.

Thank you for making the forum one of the places you turned to for help...I did the same thing when my mom had a heart attack last summer...the power of prayer and the reassurance of friends are a blessing to have when we face adversity.
