Rock and roll, another temblor of 3.6 magnitude just rocked the house. Just a minor one. The house shook pretty good because we were so close to the epicenter. No damage, just had to calm the nerves of my youngest daughter and the dog. They both hate the quakes. But it was 77 degrees today.
You could shovel snow or shovel rubble....but they were saying there is a pretty good fault line in the midwest they are watching now too though...so who knows
No, I think I'd pick an earthquake over a tornado. Houses can be made to withstand an earthquake, but I have yet to hear of a tornado proof house.
good point... also, with earthquakes one doesn't have to go to kansas to retreive personal belongings. i hate tornado season (i guess that should be in the other thread).

I must be old school california. I was just sitting here on the bed, reading the forum posts when the house shook. I just sat here, watched the house shake, then hugged my daughter to calm her. I was like, not even a four pointer, and I will take the earthquakes anyday over those horrific tornadoes, hurricanes and severe thunderstorms you get in the midwest.
I was in California once in the early 80s. There was an earthquake while I was there. My aunt had the same calm reaction. Much better than bracing for a hurricane. BUT at least they can somewhat predict when a hurricane is coming.
