*INTRODUCING THE FREEZE FRAME RADIO BILLBOARDS ACROSS AMERICA PROJECT!!!

Hey!

Well actually, its more like the FREEZE FRAME RADIO Rummage Sale Sign Advertising Blitz.....

Would any of our forum members be willing, if we were to send a few 11 x 17 printed signs advertising the station, to post these signs for a weekend (or two, if they last that long) at a couple of busy intersections in your town? Put them up on dowels, tape them to a post, etc...and then remove them (so as not to become garbage or litter...)

I am thinking that a few well placed signs, at busy stoplights, or out front of popular strip malls across America  (heck even England if Ultimo and pip are interested) might be an effective (and cheap-we do this as a labor of love) advertising tool for the station to boost our numbers!!

If interested, please shoot me an e-mail jazz@freezeframeradio.com with name & address that we could mail these out to. Of course, all info will be held in strictest confidence, and we'd never sell your e-mail address to anyone.

We would view this as a big favor!

Thank you!!!

Bloomington has a sign ordinance, but there are a few designated areas where signs can be posted, so I can put one or more up in those spots. There's a guitar shop here too that I can see if he'll let me put one up in his window (I'm not holding my breath for that though).

I am hoping that the 11 x 17 size is small enough to not be obnoxious. I could picture someone not wanting that in their shop window. Maybe I should make an 8 1/2 x 11 too?

On the East side of milwaukee, we used to be able to staple signs to wooden telephone polls advertising bands and stuff- it was actually pretty cool. but they made an ordinance against that. It was enforceable once the telephone polls were replaced with concrete ones.

Any efforts would be greatly appreciated! Don't break any laws or ordinances tho!

I know in some places, the ground is frozen, covered in snow still. I know around here that I am going to wait until April to post these.

I couldn't post them on phone poles or anything here, but if you'd like to e-mail me the artwork, I can print out smaller fliers to put up on bulleton boards in grocery stores, post offices, work place, etc.

Let me know.

Allright!!!

Our Advertising BLitz has begun!!! I sent Lady Strange a pdf so she could print out some flyers!

Also, yesterday, I found the first official under-writer for Underground 80's and Jazz 101!!

Johnny 7's restaruant- a few blocks away from the station! In trade for posting a flyer in Johnny 7's window and a few pens to use, I will mention his restaurant as an underwriter for the shows (and the station) a couple of times on Sunday!

Zim sent me an e-mail- she is going to this huge rummage sale at a fairgrounds, and there will be a lot of pedestrian traffic out there, so she will post some signs!

Thanks Zim!!

No problem. Funny thing, it's a Home and Garden Show with a yardsale side thing sponsored by the local radio station. Let's see if they call me on it! Heh heh....

My big plan is after the jazz show on Sunday night, putting four of the 11 x 17 signs up at the busy intersection by my house, by the ball-park, for the big opening day crowds to see on their way too and from the big game!

Signs now up Riggs- I figured while there was a break in the rain to go ahead and get them up now- weather is supposed to be rough tonight & tomorrow so I don't know if they will last. But I have 2 up heading east along Bluemound Ave- giving the folks caught in traffic a chance to see them twice- one right at the stop light where people can turn right into the stadium lot. Another one is on Hawley Road right before Bluemound, where folks turn right onto Bluemound to get to the stadium.

Last one in on Wisconsin Ave and Hawley, facing West for the folks heading home. HOPEFULLY they get seen. The BLuemound ave ones are in no parking areas along the ave, so shouldn't be blocked by parked cars.

I wish they were bigger! I wish I would have laminated them!! We will see!!

still up, but I don't think they'll make it- its really raining heavy out there....there are on a gloss stock, so there is some reinforcement as opposed to just a regular card stock, but yea, not good........ frustration......

Remember. There is a pdf file available of an 8.5 X 11 flyer if you would like to print some and disburse them in your area.

Contact JD for the file at jazz@freezeframeradio.com
