Today JR and some us have talked about not knowing some of the songs in the list. Would anybody be interested in picking a day to request songs we don't know or at least don't know by title? I know I've read before that some of you feel like you are wasting your requests when you do this, but I think it would be a good way to get to know some of the songs and another way to mix it up. Just a thought. I may do it myself one day anyway.

I like when we all have a chance to do this. Sometimes I do it anyway on my own. It makes it better when we all do it. With JR adding so much to the playlist there has to be something I haven't heard or realize that I know.

i do this a lot. sometimes i think i'm requesting something i know, but it turns out to be soemthing else. i don't feel like i'm wasting my requests since everyone here usually picks something i like anyhow. yeah, i like that idea...

I do that somedays too. I try to do it with artists I know and like when I don't recognize a title. You know how you have albums you love and you wonder why only certain songs make it to radio. That's why I like to look for songs I don't recognize by artists I like.
PS: I hadn't seen this thread when I suggested a theme for tomorrow. Look at the "New Additions" thread. See if it's something you all would like to participate in.

1 way to find some "new " songs you you mite like is if everyone requested from the same letter for half a day or so , or maybe JR could " feature " a letter on his morning show.

Hey - like on Sesame Street!

The Friday we did places and girls names, it was mostly places. What about doing today "Girls Names", or what about the idea yesterday where the first song is by the group, and the second is solo. ie: Police-Sting.
Let's go with your first idea! A band and its members attempt to make it!
OK, let's do it!

I can't decide between Tommy Shaw and Dennis Deyoung.
Dedicated by Tennessee Girl
I'm glad you chose Dennis, because that leaves you open to do Damn Yankees & Tommy as another grouping. (Or Damn Yankees & Ted, but the Ted selection is pretty thin...)

I went obvious with the Police-Sting thing (coming up), but I figured I'd get the obvious out of the way so maybe there's a chance to still get in the less such later!
I almost did Foreigner-Lou Gramm but I'm glad I didn't because I see that coming up.
I guess the Black Sabbath, Ozzy connection won't be heard today. No Black Sabbath to choose from. I don't think we have any YardBirds either. Wasn't that Rod Stewarts first band?

Think that was the Faces/Small Faces (Rod's band).
Yeah, I guess there's no chance of a Sex Pistols/Public Image Ltd. combo, either, eh?
