I have a close friend who's 9 months pregnant. Her due date was last week, but she hasn't had the baby yet. She's now in the hospital waiting to have the baby, and they'll induce labor tomorrow. I'm so excited!
But that aside, she's bored to death. I'm going to go visit her in a couple hours, and I'd like to take something along for her. But I'm undecided about what to take. She's going to get plenty of flowers and balloons, she's got a crossword book, and I thought about making her a baby book, but I have no clue what to include, and I have basically no time. I don't want to bring along anything that says congratulations, because she hasn't had the baby yet. Anyone have any ideas?
A stress ball and foot massage lotion of some sort! These were the things my wife requested. Other suggestions, warm slippers or a hand held trivia type game.

Nope, no laptop. And she doesn't like her feet messed with. But the stress ball is a good idea. Of course, she'll probably use it as a weapon, but as long as it isn't directed at me...
I thought about food, and I'll probably bring her a Mt. Dew, but other than that, I'm not going to chance it. She's the pickiest eater I know. We always joke about her food "rules." She won't eat anything orange, nothing in the shape of an 8, no casseroles, nothing with the word "bar" or "loaf," etc.
I want to expand on the stationary one. This is a really cool thing--Bring the stationary and ask mom and dad to write down their thoughts as the first gazed at the amazing child. Lamenate them at a later date with a picture of the baby on the birthday. Makes a really great gift and the kids love it years later. I wish someone would have done that for me, so that I recall more vividly how I felt as I took my daughter into my arms the very first time.
