Well, the album came out yesterday.  Although I've only heard about 5 or 6 of the tracks so far, I can tell you --  it's not good, it's not great, it's excellent!  I highly recommend it to everyone.

Well, now that you mention it when I woke up this morning my head WAS facing backwards. I thought I just slept funny. And even though I had eggs for breakfast I keep getting this taste of pea soup in my mouth

That was LEANN RIMES! LEANN RIMES for crying out loud!

The one, the ONLY, LEANN RIMES!

We looooooooooooooooooove LeAnn Rimes in these parts.

It's all about priorities.

To be honest I haven't heard a good cheap trick song since "Can't Stop Fallin' Into Love", so my hopes are low for this album.

WOKE UP WITH A MONSTER was hooooooooooooooooorrible.

I'm hoping they'll surprise me this weekend though.

I cannot believe you don't love "Woke Up With a Monster."  With our Survivor guys co-writing and everything?  Didn't you love the Survivor co-writes?

I know you love Survivor - that's what I'm sayin'!  Please do give it another listen.  From what I can tell about you, you go for the poppy stuff over the more rockin' stuff.  Check out "You're All I Wanna Do" & "Didn't Know I Had It."


Have you heard Eddie Money's "Ready Eddie"?  You might like it - It's got Frankie co-writes all over it.

GOOD GRIEF THIS FORUM IS DRIVING ME CRAZY TODAY! SLOOOOOOOOOOOOOW

Anyway, I will give it a second shot LS.

You're right, I usual lean toward the pop song over the rock song (My 80's upbringing), so maybe I missed those you mentioned on there.

I enjoy a lot of the rock songs too, but I find too often the lyrics get lost in the music. For songs that really rock I like the voice to be upfront in the mix or the singer to just have a good enough voice to be heard through the music. You know what I mean?

Music to me is interactive, I like to be able to sing along, if I can't hear the lyrics then it's just noise to me.

I find with a lot of these aging bands it seems as they get older they rely more on the music and less on the vocals. Probably because the instrument playing skills are still sharp while the voice is starting to lose it's edge.

I agree about still having a crush on Robin, but when I saw them a couple of years ago, he could NOT sing at all. They did not even try The Flame.
