...only about nine or ten months ago when I would walk into the studio in the morning we used to have three times as many listeners tuned in as we do now

The glory days. It was common to have 4 hours of requests lined up. It had even gotten so bad that at times I had to drop the request limit to 1 song.

Then, BOOM, everybody went bye-bye. Now we have a much smaller albiet fiercly loyal audience. Slowly, slowly, sloooooooooooooooooowly trying to rebuild.

I am blue

Oh well. Today I MUST get something done around here, so I won't be on as much as I was yesterday. I leave the forum to you fine people! Make me proud!

Believe me, JD and I BOTH REALLY REALLY appreciate you loyal listeners. You guys are the ones that will listen through four minutes of static like you did yesterday without turning us off!

If it werent' for you guys I think that big drop last fall after the Live365 change might have caused us to just give up on this thing.

Beyond being listeners, you've all become friends. What more could we ask for?

Have you exercised yet today JR?  They say it helps the mood and can turn you from blue to whatever color represents being happy....  is it red? Orange? Yellow?...anything but blue.


Exercising is good for your lybido too... (sp?)...

Well, we had 100 free slots and usually would get to about 135 with the VIPS.

Now we have cut all the way down to 30 free slots and typically peak at about 55 to 60.

It's our own fault though, we just don't promote the station enough.

Actually, it's PARTIALLY our fault. Live365 is the real reason we had the drop because they changed the way they listed stations.

for almost four years we built the audience from about 5 people in the early days to over 100 in about two years. In two months it all crashed down thanks to Live365.

They really suck. They don't do any advertising of their own, they rely on us to bring people to their network. Then when we bring them there they want to make sure to show them all that there's hundreds of stations to choose from.

If we could just get to where we have about 200 - 250 listeners then we could go pro, and once we did that we could become one of the big boys in internet radio that get 1000 or more listeners an hour.

Of course, it's better for you guys that we stay small If we had 1000 listeners at a time I can guarantee you we'd have to go to 1 request an hour.

One request per hour for the "average" guy, 3 for the special people.
